In light of his new hair style I'm officially changing my position on Gazza and endorsing his sale. Looks like an Argentine Andy Carroll out there. Not a good look Paulo...;)
From a female point of view I beg to differ. ;) But then he looks good with short hair too!

They already have Bettinelli and Rodak - both considerably better than Gazzaniga. Which is why I don't believe they'll sign him unless they're selling one of those two.

That's debatable though. Bettinelli played 7 games in the PL two seasons back and had the joint lowest save % of any goalkeeper (source: FBRef.com).

Not seen Rodak much but he hasn't played in the PL.

Almost certainly, or on the off chance not then we will certainly bring in another HG keeper, because that is the current squad issue in terms of more easily bringing in replacements in other key areas. HG qouta must be fixed.

Frankly though I beleieve Hart will be a perfectly decent Number 2 (assuming Gazzaniga is even being sold of course).

I would keep him until Joe Hart proves he's not going to be a complete muppet in goal for us [he was for Burnley].

So by being called up to France, Hugo will have to quarantine for 14 days. This means he will miss our first two matches in the Premier League [Everton (H) and Southampton (A)] as well as our Europa League and EFL Cup matches [as will Sissoko].

Can't see Gazzaniga going anywhere soon with this in mind.

Don't international players have some special conditions as it's for business purposes after all?

I'll keep saying this but I'm not sure how Hart was that much worse than Gazza has been for us when they both have very similar stats and yet Hart at both Burnley and West Ham was playing in a team that shipped more goals and had worse defences than us.

I'm not saying Hart can't be our guy, I'm optimistic about him actually in a decent defensive setup.

I'm just saying that since Hart's performances for West Ham and Burnley [who yes, have worse defenses] were not strong enough for him to secure a future at those clubs, I think it would be wise for us to let Hart feature in some real competitive matches to allow the club to establish confidence in him before we conclude he is better than our existing #2.

It depends though, in theory our No.2 is unlikely to play many games and we know that Hart has the ability, he just needs to get into the right mentality again.

However for me what it comes down to is that freeing up a non HG spot in our squad and generating some much needed income far outweighs the possible risk that Hart is any worse than Gazza when there's virtually no evidence to suggest that he would be.

Yes he had bad spells at Burnley and West Ham, but he still did better than Gazza did for us this season when you take their defensive records into account.

Seriously Screw the shitty Nations League, for one its shit and means nothing, secondly UEFA are completely backwards for having these 'Competive' games when pre-season fitness has literally only been starting for 1-2 weeks and players not ready or match fit; thirdly as point one its a shit comp with no meaning or prestige screw the comp, in an inbetweener style retort 'its just a bus-stop wanker of a comp'

PS - Clubs should revolt if they have to quarantine players for this needless wank comp

'Elite athletes' are exempt from having to quarantine.

If Gazzaniga leaves we'll probably want to replace him with a cheap HG keeper in addition to Hart. Not sure if there are many now available. Has Rob Elliot found a club yet? He's got plenty of PL experience and not ancient for a keeper.

I can't say much on Rodak but Bettinelli is not even close to the level of Gazzaniga. Bettinelli is not really good enough to be a starting Championship goalkeeper. Gazza is much better than some people seem to believe.

I’d prefer if hart went to #2 and Austin or whiteman #3 than sign bloody rob Elliot

If Gazza leaves we would want a good goalkeeper who we can rely on, I'm not convinced Hart's that man.

Any keeper who replaces Lloris will stick out, but keepers not up to the quality needed really stick out on the football pitch.

A poor keeper will cost you a lot of points. This is why you need three goalkeepers you can rely on.

I don't think it'sin Jose's mind to sell Gazza, considering what he said, but I could understand why this might be a good deal for him and us. But we would need to get a serous replacement. Home grown or not.
