I was reading the Ray Bradbury story last night where the guy goes back in a time machine, steps on an insect and returns to the modern world to find it vastly different. This got me thinking. If you could pause spurs now and rewind to a particular point in the past twenty years and change one decision, what would it be?

Appointing Wenger when he was at Gramphus eight? Signing Suarez from Ajax? Appointing Harry when he was at West Sham? In Ray Bradbury style what is the one thing that we could have changed that we would mean things could be so different now?

After a gig at Brixton Academy back in ~1995, I would've stopped talking when that really hawt goth chick told me to.

I'd go back in time Biff Tannen style and make a fortune on sports betting, then I'd buy the club before Sugar could get his hands on it and get the stadium sorted for the start of the premier league. I'd have Fergie as manager and sign the likes of Bergkamp and Zidane who we were rumoured to miss out on. Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Original Ronaldo and C Ronaldo would be signed as infants too of course.

Sorted.

For all of Wenger's brilliance as a coach, he's a weasley bastard and I wouldn't change anything to have made him our manager. He's a twat and twats belong at Arsenal.

I would have loved to have seen what might of been of AVB and Spurs had we got the Moutinho transfer over the line. Whatever we did to fuck that up still bothers me and I honestly think it could have been a significant signing.

I wouldn't have Wenger either although I have a certain respect for him. I wouldn't go as far as going back in time to smother him as a baby, but I'd go back to Strasbourg and groom him to become a librarian instead of a football manager.

I imagine he would still have found a way to stifle us creatively and alienated our dressing room.

Well it's just over 20 years but I wish we could have stopped David Pleat's trips round the back of the Luton FC car park and kept Richard Gough. We might then have put in a serious challenge for the league in 1988

We should have invested properly in the squad when we got to the CL.

Totally agree. Investing in a top class striker would have ensured that we qualified for the champions league again. On top of that we should never have sacked Harry or sold Bale or Modric.

Look at Liverpool this season. Suarez wanted to go. Liverpool said no. Same with Rooney.

I would go back to 1991 and place a banana peel on the ground just before Gazza got anywhere near Gary Charles, that way he'd never have ruined his career. I would then have also placed a cassette player in Irvin Scholar(?)s that subliminally convinced him to sell Paul Stewart and Justin Edinburgh instead of Gazza. Then we'd have had a team of Gazza, Lineker, Sheringham and then Klinsmann in the 90's and we would never have been so shit... then Hoddle may have come to be player manager of us instead of Swindon then Chelsea and we'd have had an awesome 20 years.

Or something...

Wish Crouch had been able to stay on the field longer than 14 flippin' minutes in the Champions League quarter final against Real Madrid. What an idiot. 75 minutes with 10 men in the Bernabeu - great. If only we could have brought them back to the Lane for the second leg with the scores tied or maybe even just one goal behind. We could have really gone for it. Thanks Crouchy.

I would have substituted Anton Ferdinand before John Terry had a chance to racially abuse him.

Without that incident there wouldn't have been calls for Terry to be dropped from the England team.

Without those calls, Capello wouldn't have felt compelled to resign.

Without his resignation, there wouldn't have been any of the speculation about Harry.

Without the speculation, Harry would have been able to concentrate on getting us third.

He wouldn't have been sacked, we wouldn't have got AVB, and we wouldn't have seen the one decent team we've had in years ripped apart and replaced by a series of downgrades.

In line with RSS, when that hot (big boobs) chick spoke to me after I sang Karaoke with a mate, rather than be blind drunk and say things that mean nothing, I'd have actually chatted to her.

We'd be married by now, and I'd have a big boobed wife, I'm sure of it

Oh Spurs related... wouldn't have let Willian get on a coach to the Kings Road!

Yep, and if Levy knew all that he might well have invested that January, as it was he thought Harry was off to England in the summer like the rest of us.

No takers at the time for these gentlemen and I think you'll find, they were then both given £200000+ per week to stay. Rooney was nearer £300k.

Real are looking a our friend Louis as we speak according to 'Marca' ( it means pinch of salt)

We were close to getting Fergie before Man Utd came in. I would have made sure he came to us, even if it meant making him sign the contract under duress.
