Today highlighted that against a team where wolves had the possession and had to make the running he didn't stand out at all.
We need a tricky winger not a moderately quick one with no real skill to beat a man.
That's why I wanted Nusa so much.
Much better dribbler that can go both ways.

As said above he's a powerful runner but against a low block (which he didn't even face today) he'll be slightly more effective than what e already have. And I'm not sure that's enough to warrant £80m. (Or even £60m)

Disagree. He was the most dangerous player on the pitch even on a quieter day for him and he still created chances. He links up better than our wide players, he’s much more explosive and he can beat players from a standing start on both sides.

He is playing for a team who don’t really have much of a possession game. If he played for us he’d improve significantly imo playing with better players.

We need him and another though, another explosive tricky winger so that we have multiple options on both flanks.

He had a lot of the ball just going by the touch map they showed but really didn’t think he looked that dangerous. Stick by my view that his ball manipulation isn’t a strong part of his game. He ran the ball out a few times from standing the full back up, he showed too much of the ball to the full back a few times. Not denying he’s a good player just he’s more about running power mainly in transition.

60-80 is way to much/risky especially with his injury history from what I’ve seen in his time at Wolves

Agree, Neto would be more of a longer term Son replacement which is great but it doesn’t address the profile we desperately need which is more in the Solomon type mould.

He's very hyped and I guess every big team are watching him, when was the last time we made that kind of signing especially for attacking position? I'm not saying it's impossible but somehow I just don't see it happening.

I see this one-on-one specialist mentioned a lot. Considering it's Ange's system and so far he has targeted Johnson and now Neto, what makes you so sure he wants a one-on-one specialist?

If that was the profile he wanted surely he would be prioritise that over potentially spending £60/£70m on Neto?

By all accounts though the reason the Nusa deal fell through before Brentford became involved was because Ange wanted him immediately and not to loan him back to his parent club and get him in the summer.

Agree, you only need to look at the impact Jota had a Liverpool playing with better players. He's better than Kulusevski or Werner so that's enough to make him an upgrade to the first 11 and mean he'd definitely be a good addition to the 15 key players you look to find your starting 11 from

Looks like Wolves are still struggling financially. If they are under pressure to sell, we need to use our financial advantage over other clubs and act decisively

Unfortunately this sounds like just the scenario that will create a bidding war, our least favourite approach

I think it’ll be business as usual in the summer for all clubs after a quiet January tightening the purse strings, but I’m sure we can offer more favourable terms, with a higher percentage of the fee up front for example. I think the real key is moving quickly and decisively. The longer we leave it, the more we’re exposed to a bidding war. Some of our competition may even have to sell before they can buy. Wolves will probably favour getting a deal done early as well so that they know where they stand with regards to their finances and squad planning. Ideally we’re already laying the groundwork and are ready to strike a deal before the window even opens.

Supposedly he was one of two subs made at half time today. From what I can find it was as a precaution after he landed awkwardly after going up for a header. Didn’t watch the game tho so can’t really say for sure.

How many clubs are truly able to get involved though , given the FFP constraints?
It's a good point.

I didn't think we'd get Maddison. I thought Newcastle were ready to spend big but it seemed he favoured us but due to FFP they couldn't put in a huge bid anyway.

Villa have just posted big losses and Chelsea are in the shit. So several of the teams around the CL places aren't in a place to spend huge.

We'll need to put in a big offer to tempt them to sell but there's every chance we won't have huge competition for the signing.

Agree. It’s Arsenal and Liverpool we would need to be taking on for his signature. Hopefully neither go for him but I can see Liverpool making a strong play for him. Especially if Salah goes.

Well realistically Arsenal and Liverpool are the other clubs who are linked, looking for a RWF and have the money.
They are the teams we have to battle with for this player

not sure why anyone is bringing chelsea into this. Firstly, it’s well documented just how bad their financial situation is. Secondly they already have palmer and madueke at RWF. For both these reasons I dont see them as a rival in this transfer.
Does anyone?

equally, Villa too have some restrictions on FFP headroom. But they also have Bailey and diaby. So why would they bid for Neto?

I hope that arsenals need for a cf distracts them, and Liverpool’s search for a manager and DoF allows us to sneak in front.

On Newcastle’s list now also, not sure how that fits with ffp, but interested parties are getting larger. It also mentions that that they like Kelly and have started talks.

Makes you wonder how much of an appeal Newcastle will be for top players this summer. No Champions League, you wouldn't really bet money on them finishing in the top 4 again for the next few years over certain other teams, incomings limited due to FFP etc.

I'm sure they can still attract, but when players have a choice between them and other top teams in the league and Europe, I'm not sure their stock is high enough as of now to attract more than those clubs.
