I'm bored to death of people talking about fucking corners on this forum. The fact is that we've scored more than the average from corners. Yes he takes some poor corners, so does every player in the world, I swear some of you don't watch any football apart from Spurs.

Agreed.
His corners are usually pretty decent, bit of an off day today.
Move on people.

His corners today were poor, and some of his tracking back left a lot to be desired, but over all I think we had worse players on the pitch today. Was a definite off day, yet even so, we managed not to lose - it's a sign of a good team!

Eriksen is a bit frustrating because he clearly has so much talent but is just that little way off being a world class player.
The criticism he gets is ridiculous though, you have to appreciate with players like him they make us tick just as Modric did, you really appreciate them once they're out the team. Granted he should perhaps score and assist a few more than he does but he contributes a lot to our attacking play and we really wont find many better players in that position than him. Just get behind the lad, great goal today such composure and tekkers.

Exactly what he was doing today!

There's a reason people get wound up about his corners because he can score worldy free kicks but 9 times out of 10 can't beat the bloody first man from a corner. It's infuriating because we actually have people who can head the ball now. Either work on it in training and improve or get someone else to take them!

Its even more frustrating today as Carroll took a very good corner and then Eriksen wanted to take the next corner which was poor for the rest of the game

Carroll just took a good corner why not carry on letting him take them from the right wing

I'm sure there are a few players capable of taking a decent corner, Lamela has a nice delivery and I'm certain Carroll, Pritchard (when fit), even Trippier are all decent corner takers. I just get fed up with the constant moaning that Eriksen is shit at corners when the evidence points otherwise. The argument has been done to death but I'll say it again - it's all about percentages. He hits the first man a lot because he's firing the ball in with pace to the near post, meaning if we get the flick on or header we're more likely to score from it. Even I could float the ball into the box on a fairly consistent basis but the likeliness is that the keeper will get to it, it's cleared, or even if we win the header it's tough to generate the power needed to beat any decent keeper. I just won't agree with anybody that says Eriksen is a poor corner taker because it just isn't true.

Eriksen is a long way from world class, and please dont compare him to modric, he is light years away from his influence on the pitch.

Apprieciate him for what he actually is, a great technician.

I thought he wasn't that bad today. A little wayward with corners but put in a decent shift overall.

Last night was the kind of game we need Eriksen to stand up and make things happen, when we need some experience and intelligence to break sides down that is when we need him most but it seems to be happening less often now.

The younger lads in the side like Alli, Lamela and even Kane are likely to get frustrated in games like yesterday, Eriksen needs to have the mentality that he's the man in these situations, I feel like all he's missing is that self belief that he has the ability to turn a game and make things happen.

The criticism Eriksen gets does amuse me when you compare it to the free ride Alli and Lamela get on a more regular basis. Is he not top of our scored/assist table?

Are you just talking out of those 3 or in total? As Kane as 14 goals in the 2015/16 season.. Eriksen has 4....

What about from open play? Bar the two free kicks against Swansea he has done fuck all since the Sheff Utd game a year ago. It's easy to quote stats but bear in mind up until recently he has been taking almost every corner and every free kick.

With Lamela you see that massive desire where he's desperate to make something happen in the final third, with Eriksen you see very little of that from open play and what is amusing is how people were hoping we weren't going to sell him to Real Madrid and now they're comparing him to Modric!

He half arsed stuck out a leg in our defensive third yesterday for the second game in a row (almost costing us a goal both times), we're supposed to be creating a squad that fights for each other, not one where the odd player thinks he's too good to get stuck in.

I'm looking forward to the "that's just the way he is, he's a flair player" comments now.

Alli seems to get a free pass just because he's scored a few goals.

A lot fans don't seem to appreciate the calmness and composure Eriksen brings in the final third, always showing for the ball and giving us a platform to initiate attacks.

Alli bumbles around loses the ball quite often but then gets hailed as the future of english football because he gets on the end of a few chances, even though his overall style of play is sometimes to the detriment to the team dynamic.
