'Worst' may be a bit harsh, but at £38 million all those years ago, he's not far off being a similar waste of money to Ndombele in real terms. He's a crap defender, but I wouldn't say 'worst'.
I'm by no means a fan of Sanchez, but he's not a crap defender. He's actually fairly ok defensively.

His limitations however are with the ball at his feet, and being asked to play out from the back is not something that he's clearly not comfortable with.

Have been patient with him but he's just not good enough, especially with the ball. To be fair Jose called his ages ago when he targeted him in the EL final when he was at Ajax.

You get some right snowflakes on this site, so fucking touchy about critising players who are playing poorly week in week out.

I've always backed my team and never turn against them in the stadium...never.
But SC is a way of unloading my anger amongst fellow fans, if we can't do it here, then what's the point of spurs forum, so long as it's not vile.

Yet at the same time, he was a key player for a successful Ajax side who liked to build from the back - and indeed in his first season here. His flaws aren’t so bad that they can’t be masked.

He’d look a lot better if we had a technically assured right-wing back next to him.

I have to admit that I don’t really rate him, mainly because he is poor on the ball, but he can be a decent defender if he’s playing next to calm and composed players. Playing with the likes of Dier and Lloris in their current form, he will be a liability due to the sheer panic they are giving off.

There's a difference between criticism and abuse. If you go around calling players shit then don't be surprised if some people take exception to that.

I'd also ask why you have so much anger to unload? We're having one of the most successful seasons in the club's history. We have a world class manager and a squad full of excellent players (even if it still needs more upgrades).

What is there to be so angry about?

There are levels and the dutch league is nowhere near the prem league. I do think he has improved ever so slightly , but is still miles off what it takes in modern day football, where the defenders must be able to pass the ball comfortably to beat the press and at times he looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights and other teams know this.
I do agree he is not helped by having a poor wing back beside him. I don't think he or anyone is helped by Diers passing ability either, another who gets off the hook for some dreadful passing, esp considering the amount of time he played in the middle of the park.

So, people still think he’s going to mature into a top class CB? This has got to be it for him now here, shocking in every aspect of being a defender. He’ll give any player or team a chance even going down divisions. Who would buy him though?

Needs to forcefully be shown the door. He looks worse than he is because teams know to target him, but quite honestly even accounting for the poor footballing ability he's just shocking at defending.

game changed when he and emerson were subbed off. woeful player should never play again
One thing which didn’t turn out to be costly (thanks to Lenglet’s excellent control and composure) was when he needlessly hoofed it 40 yards into the air towards our goal.

Inexplicable lack of composure for a professional.

Side note (I completely agree with your assessment of Davinson) that touch from Lenglet was exquisite. Just shows the many levels between the two as footballers.

The problem with keeping players like Sanchez as squad players is that at some point they’re going to play. And when they do, they’re just not good enough. It will take a long time but if we have ambitions of being title challengers then Sanchez has to go.

£42 million for this chap. Cannot believe he has survived 10 transfer windows when we all figured out was a bit of a donkey after about 6 months.

To be fair to him, he seems like a nice fella who shows up every week, but he's not, and probably never will be, good enough for the things we are trying to achieve.

Yeah his time his up. He hasn’t lived up to the raw potential. The one thing that has frustrated me most is how easily he is bullied by forwards.
