I think I'd rather see us get in a new CB that will be decent backup to Romero and Van de Ven than keep Sanchez on as our fourth choice CB.

I like him and would like to hold on to him as fourth choice if possible, but if he's the only CB we have attracting interest then maybe this is one we have to bite the bullet over.

I think this is the key issue. There have been practically zero links to Dier or Tanganga all summer so seems like Sanchez is the only one we'll get half-way decent money for, even if he's the best back-up for Ange in the short-term.

I do think we 100% have to sign a new CB if we sell Sanchez though as if we go into the season with Dier & Tanganga as our 3rd and 4th choices we're fucked.

Sanchez entering last year on contract.
9m Euros is more than good enough offer for him. Also we save 3.3m in wages for this year

So our back up options are Dier and Phillips if Davinson leaves? Yikes

Am I forgetting anyone?
I suppose Ben Davies can slot in on the left side like he did in pre-season. He should really be emergency centre-back in a back 4 rather than back up but it’s where we are at the moment.

Tbf a lot of these bids are taking the piss. Rennes just got 50m+ for Doku and are expecting us to give away an international player just entering his prime. Make it make sense.

Yeah I don't think we're being unfair in the slightest here.

Good, 10 mill is ridiculous...and who is sniffing round Sanchez ? Only the craftiest transfer dealers around. Rennes.
They can smell a great deal a mile off. Very successful at this sort of thing and Sanchez at 10 mill is a steal.

They gamble Sanchez will continue the last 3 months good form (his prob is purely mental imo, so might)...and flog him to PSG for 40 mill next summer.

Sell Dier 1st plz.

I don’t think we should keep him given his contract runs out next summer and he’s not in Ange’s long term plans.
Sell who we can now, of course we’d then need to sign a replacement.

the problem is it seems that he doesn't want to leave, we can only negotiate for mutual termination

Trying to take advantage of a club in desperate need to sell, all power to them trying to get a good deal. Every club does the same and it's only a few days to go in window so why shouldn't they low ball?!

For the money being offered so far it's a no brainer to keep him as defensive cover this season and wave him off with a slap on the back next summer.

It's that or trying to watch Dier play a high line when injuries hit.

It's certainly a lowball offer but keeping him means we lose him for nothing in a year , pay him for the year and still need a replacement.

Definitely a balance in there to be found

Sorry for being extremely lazy - but didn't we accept an offer from the Russians for him? Presumably that sets out nicely what the price is for any interested parties?

Rennes are the Brighton of Ligue 1. Shouldn't be giving them anyone at a car boot sale price.
