He’s gone from by far his worst performance to, in my opinion, his best (at least alongside his Man City outing).

There was one touch in the second half on the near touchline which was absolutely beautiful.

More of this, please.

Has he been subbed off even once this season? Considering the amount of work he does, he's a machine.

I do think that WH performance was a lot to do with how they played and where he found himself, along with who he had available to pass to.
If Ange can be selective about when and where he plays him, we can really start to see the best of the lad.

It was nice to see him have the confidence to take a shot on his right foot tonight and it was a decent effort.
I can't fault him for the West Ham game because they made it hard for a player like him but like City, he was great again tonight.

Him continue to be under the radar is good for us. Opposition wouldn't understand how valuable he can be for us.

Was a lovely bit of play. Wish they had shown it again. He had two Newcastle players coming at him, and looked like he was about to lose the ball about half way inside our box, but his quick footedness got him out of there and we were away again.

I think he’s better through the middle, just imagine we improve our wing options so much that it’s a choice of him or Maddison with him still being an option on the wing, or both him and Maddison in cm depending on the opposition

Fantastic today.

So effective at finding pockets of space and receiving the ball on the spin.

His strength, balance and need to feel the opposition to spin will mean that he will be effective here

Newcastle did a pretty bad job of picking him and blocking the passing lanes so he will certainly have tougher days.

However Newcastle did become more aggressive and he actually went up a level

the hard thing about Kulu when he is playing this "Roamer" role, they would actually have to man mark him out as he just runs allover the middle of the park. they can't do that since porro and udogie are both pushing up in the middle, that would cause a crazy overload and if it's not kulu being open it'll be one of our wing backs

He's actually got quite a decent long ball on him too, something I hadn't really noticed before.
He's played a couple of good balls to create breaks recently, opens up the pitch really well

Think he has become far too predictable and almost easy to defend when on the right, because he just kept cutting back onto his left more often than not. Or he rolls it back to one of the midfielders/Porro. Central, and possibly even on the left, may be the way forward with him. At least it gives us an option while Maddison is out.

So much more effective when he can roam.
He linked everything today and the options players had in possession benefited from it.

Love him in the 10 role.
Everything looked better today with Sarr, Bissouma and Udogie looking back to their best.

Him playing like that massively lessens the Maddison loss. Especially as Johnson looks much better on the right.

It’s going to be interesting to see how it shakes out when Maddison comes back

Is having a storming season for us under Ange. Has been a solid 8/10 most weeks across a variety of positions.

Until Maddison is back I’d start Kulu, Sarr and Biss every match we can in the middle. Kulu as an 8/10 is so effective in a totally different way to Maddison, Kulu has such an engine and athleticism and drives us forward whereas Maddison was a linker and lock picker.

Still would like Kulu to add a bit more goals and assists but can’t really fault him overall, his performances are top drawer week in week out.

If at some stage of the season we can have Maddison, Kulu & Bentancur all fit at the same time our front 6 could be something like:

Biss or Bentancur
Sarr
Maddison

Kulu
Richy
Son

When you then factor in the likes of:
Lo Celso
Johnson
Solomon
Perisic

Some mouthwatering line-ups and combinations Ange could put out.
🤤

Great midfield options but the attack needs ramping up imo, with midfield with everyone fit we’ve 6 great options which I’d be happy with any combination of the 6 depending on the opposition. We need to get to the same level in attack and kulu could be an option in either
