But not good enough for where we want to be I reckon. Still waiting for more from him. I’ve no idea about udogie but he’s obviously been bought with the future in mind.

He's maybe not quite what was expected but he's started against Liverpool twice and both times you'd need to check the team sheet to check if Salah was playing.

What happens to Ryan? This Destiny guy looks dope
He sinks or swims. As much as I am willing Ryan to fulfill his potential, we aren't a charity. We can't wait another two years to see if he comes good. If Udogie keeps putting these kinds of performances in then there's every chance Conte goes with him. Having said that, I do think Ryan will have to the end of next season at the club. I don't see our LWB options next year only as Udogie in his first PL season, and Perisic at the age of 34 going on 35.

Been really impressed with his. Composed, strong, fast, moved the ball quickly and played with his head up, looks a player to me

Ouch, poor Mourinho. Roma started so well as well. This is embarrassing.

I'm confused by this. Ryan Sessegnon is good enough as he is. For most 22 year olds you absolutely wait until they are 24 before you make that judgment. Most players at Sessegnons age are only just beginning to get appearances in the top level. We signed him with the future in mind, right now he is developing well. He has had a good season so far.

You cannot treat a 22 year old player in the same way you treat a 25 year old. And thank god people at football clubs know that because otherwise we would have sold Danny Rose and assou-ekotto for sure, and probably the likes of Ben Davies and Kyle walker too. That's not even including most of the signings our club has made where we wouldn't even think about signing players who have been good for us at 22. People like Deki are the exception not the rule.

As you say, this signing is really about the fact that Perisic is a short term signing, when he leaves both other LWB options won't even be 25 yet and a perfect age to establish long term options at that role. Obviously, anything can happen but Udogie and Sessegnon are not competing with each other for one place. That would be poor planning on our part.

I really think people just forget how young he is, he’s been here so long it doesn’t feel possible that he’s still 22 and has plenty of potential to keep developing.

Yeah this is a great point. When they were 22, Walker and Rose were both far from the finished article.

At this stage of his career Rose was on loan at Sunderland after largely being written off by Spurs fans and it wasn't until he was 23/24 that he became a true regular in the first team and started to impress. Equally Walker only broke through at around 22 and, while he was more instantly impressive due to his physical gifts, was still very raw and had a lot of mistakes in his game. Like Rose, it wasn't until he was a couple of years older that he truly shone.

While I don't think Sessegnon will ever match Walker's levels - who was a generational talent - he could certainly match or go beyond Rose. Kid's still got plenty of time to improve and already looks much better than he did when he came into the team last year.

Anyway, Udogie looks very promising. Next season we're going to be stupidly stacked at LWB.
