I bet you don't even rate Josh Onomah. The more I see of him the more ridiculous the hysteria that was around him in here gets.
So in just two matches we are seeing all the defensive flaws that Conte would have seen everyday training. So he wasn’t just trying to send a message to the board by not playing him? It’s just that he wasn’t ready to play prem football? Who would have thought it…
Two games you mean? The more I see of him the more ridiculous the hysteria that was around him in here gets.
Could say the same about Porro after watching him at the weekend. So in just two matches we are seeing all the defensive flaws that Conte would have seen everyday training. He's a young raw player, we all knew that. He's been put into a back 4 which demands more defensively of you. I've watched some of his games, he's electric going forward and flakey defensively. This loan is a great opportunity for him to learn what he needs to improve. So in just two matches we are seeing all the defensive flaws that Conte would have seen everyday training. Yeah two games in a higher level league than he has played in before. So far he looks out of his depth. French league is nowhere near as tough as the Premier League so I think it's fair to suggest that he clearly is far from being ready for first team football with Spurs. Let's see how he develops over the rest of the season but as far as I can see, he is nowhere near as good as some people in here seem to think. Two games you mean?

It might have crossed my mind a time or two…So in just two matches we are seeing all the defensive flaws that Conte would have seen everyday training. Nothing about this post is fair.Yeah two games in a higher level league than he has played in before. So far he looks out of his depth. I'm not trying to be fair, I'm trying to be realistic here - the kid looks good going forward but based on the games I have watched so far he is absolutely terrible defensively, lazy, ball watching, out of position constantly. That's not good. I can see why Conte was very reluctant to play him. Now I really hope he can work on that part of his game (he really needs to) and that this loan is the making of him because clearly he has a lot of physical attributes that would be really useful for us going forward but right now he looks miles off it.Nothing about this post is fair.
You have tried to call out a kid playing two games in a foreign league out of position to suit a narrative.
Emerson , Sessengnon, Doc all put in loads of dogshit performances too, Porro was atrocious Saturday looked about as useful defensively as Neymar.
People wanted him because we play wing backs ( not full backs as Rennes do) and when Emerson plays sometimes teams allow an overlap giving Emerson all the space which he doesn't do anything with. They just wanted to give the kid a chance because we saw against Premier league and Championship opposition last year he can be dynamite going forward.
Nobody was proclaiming him as the second coming of Cafu, just that he deserved a chance in a position where the current players have woefully under performed.
It's the same as Emerson who I've maintained would be a very good right back and got loads and loads of disagrees for it by the way. He has played in a position that doesn't suit his skillset and struggled. Just because he has had a couple of good games now people are acting like Conte was right all along. Well long-term he maybe but I've seen enough utter shit from Emerson this year to show it's been sheer stubbornness.
We have just paid 40 million quid for a wing back. See what happens if we play him at right back. I bet it won't be pretty for a while.
That's exactly how Porro looked Saturday and we just spent 40 million on him with Contes approval.I'm not trying to be fair, I'm trying to be realistic here - the kid looks good going forward but based on the games I have watched so far he is absolutely terrible defensively, lazy, ball watching, out of position constantly. No he hasn't.Porro has proven himself at a much higher level than Spence has.
Of course he has - the Portugese league is a much higher standard than the Championship. Come on mate that is ridiculous to suggest otherwise. No he hasn't.
The Portuguese league is a farmers league. If you're saying champions league then look at Spences games in the cup. Martinelli called him his toughest ever opponent.
And anyway I'm not say he is better than Porro because people who have seen more of both say he is slightly worse at attacking but they both suffer the same weakness defensively.
The reason I mention Porro because it would be absurd to right him off after one game as a gotcha moment to other fans , just the same as it is to judge Spence on two games out of position .
