Well we don’t actually know that.
what I meant by that is that he doesn't have standout talent that would necessitate a manager playing him despite attitude issues.

in any case, I haven't seen much, but I have watched him a bit, and I haven't seen anything that would put him above either porro or emerson royal. we were all supposing he had an injury still, but the fact that he hasn't featured at all in preseason and has been training with others who seem to be off is pretty telling as to what ange thinks.

Shame really.

Conte was right. If he's showing the same under Ange he won't have too long a career.

Another waste.

And yet... many, many fans wanted him... couldn't wait for it to go through... but it was wrong because he didn't fit Conte... and now it appears his attitude doesn't fit the Premier League at all...
You mean the vocal minority! Many of us who had watched for Forest knew he flattered to deceive and was living off his best game ever vs Arsenal in the FA cup. In most games he was poor in defense. Lost the ball up field and failed to track back. I think it was Warnock who arranged the loan deal personally because his attitude stunk. Levy was the driver for this sale and he got taken to the cleaners by boro’s chairman.

It is a shame but it is not unexpected news - his attitude has been flagged up as an issue from before we signed him. He also has a LOT to learn from the little I have seen of him play in terms of his defensive ability. So far you just have to say the signing has been a total flop but that's the risk you take with younger players.

Another £20m that could’ve come in handy. Just like that £18m for Rodon that the then manager didn’t want either. Wonder how little we’ll get back for either of them.

Yeah pretty sure that’s the reason he fell out with the boss at Middlesbrough can’t remember who that was . Then got shipped to Forest on loan
Warnock. And then when Spence won promotion with Forest his first social media post was to rub it in Warnock's face.

How much were we supposedly from Inter's fee for Skriniar? 10-15m

Agree that we could have used the money better, but it's £12.5m and £11.5m guaranteed, doubt any add ons will come into it.

I’m now over 60 and the lessons of life are not that complex, recruit on attitude in all walks of life. Only fools think they can turn around a shit attitude.

Still £23m wasted which could’ve gone on a player to actually improve the 1st team, not just make a handful of appearances and bloat the squad.

And don’t get me started on the huge fee for Porro knowing we wouldn’t be using wing-backs.

All demonstrates a fucking inept ‘strategy’ in building a squad. Wonder if we’ll be saying the same thing on 1st September?

How much money have we wasted over the past decade and how many of them appear to be Levy signings?

I really shouldn't be but I'm still surprised that a successful businessman like Levy can have such a massive fault, along with such a massive blind spot to recognise it.

Yet he'll keep doing it and I'm thinking along the latest lines of Tosin over Tapsoba.
He'll think he's spotted a gem that nobody else has (Monaco reported 5m bid!), whereas anyone with any sense knows that we need as near a thing to guaranteed quality that we can get.

Yes, there's still a long way to go in the window and yes, we did start well with some good signings but once again, that old and familiar pattern is emerging.

Do you think Levy is scouting and picking players? Serious question. I'd imagine this was Paratici's call.

There was clear ITK that this was Levy's deal and how we all laughed at how long it took.

It is quite clear Levy saw this as an investment to turn a profit.

Levy is finished in football as far as I'm concerned, the deals he thrived on are few and far between these days. Any potential talent is hoovered up by the bigger fish.

You’re absolutely right. Sadly those loses are nothing in comparison to Sanchez and NDombele.
We have made some terrible signings in the last 5 years.
Even Porro at £40m doesn’t look like a particularly well considered signing. Should get most back if we wanted to sell him though.
Compare us to Brighton who seemingly add £20m to the value of every player and our £20m per player loses are shocking.

I do think our club sits in a difficult position with regard to recruitment.
Top teams obviously do attract the finest talent.
Money teams sign every youngster, loan them all out knowing one or two will come good.
Lower Prem sides, will buy good young players But importantly play them, develop them and add value.
We bought Rodon and Spence but they couldn’t get into a Top6/CL side so couldn’t kick in and really were just left out to rust.

Maddison at Leicester classic example.

As above though, we have spent a lot of money really badly AND also not given talent a chance.
It doesn’t help turning over managers like we have and having board members pulling the team in counterproductive directions.

All a bit of a mess, but do have sympathy with the

I don't agree with the critisism of this signing. It made alot of sense at the time. We needed wing backs and he looked (still could be) a hot prospect. Remains to be seen what type of player he becomes. Maybe Ange likes him and coaches him to play his system, maybe he goes on loan to a team who utilise him well and we get a good fee back for him at some point - win/win. The only way this fails is if we loan him to the wrong team and he doesn't play (shouldnt be that hard to get right, right?).
