Well fucking done to this man tonight, probably does hold the ball too long but tonight he was absolutely starved off support. Pressed on his own for an entire half with Gedson and Bergwijn nowhere to be seen. Was rewarded with a goal. Absolutely love having him at our club. I know now is the time to probably cash in but fuck me, how could we replace his fight. Superb.

If only Lamela could play like this every week. Weirdly him holding on to the ball too long worked well as a striker.

Yeah strong as a false 9, imagine players around him showing for the ball.

I just worry with people to pass too he’d hold the ball up too long and we’d all be pissed off.
But nonetheless he had a great game, he’s impressed me so far this season.

Post match interview he just explained the different colour boots... apparently has a problem with his right foot and is waiting on special boots from Adidas tomorrow.

The boots looked alright to me Erik.

Well possibly but to be honest, I don't understand why Moura is in ahead of Lamela. They both have similar weaknesses but Lamela is far and away more involved in games both in attacking and defending.

it is quite odd that according to itk we want to sell him. (a) wouldn't get much (b) seems like a fantastic player to have around the club and in the games he does play generally gives his all. Literally in his whole career with us can only think of one "lazy" game - that terrible Brighton game last year when Hugo was injured. Otherwise the lad just shows serious commitment which is really important and worth keeping at the club

He plays sort of similar to Firmino when he's played through the middle and he does look significantly better when he's played there.

Great shift from him tonight.

He has such great awareness of space and defensive movement around him.

His ability is unquestionable. His fitness is.

He has always lacked consistency because he rarely gets runs.

You can't ask for a better squad player when fit.

He was absolutely everywhere tonight. Performances like this are why I love Coco, he leaves everything on the pitch.

Fully deserved his goal too.

Should have been MOTM purely for his tireless effort that was topped off with a goal. He drived us forward from the front, think Jose will start him at old Trafford after that performance

He may be hit or miss and he may be infuriating sometimes, but tonight is the perfect example of why I'd rather have him in the squad than out of it. The guy is such a Jose player it's unreal, he fights, works and cares more than anyone and we're undoubtably better off with him than without him.

Always loved his passion and intensity. Think Mourinho is actually the perfect manager to harness it.
