Still no idea of when he'll be back, will be ridiculous to see the amount of games he's missed since he's been at the club.
Per transfermarket, Lamela has missed 102 games with injury since arriving to Spurs in 2013. He has been injured 635 days.

For all those with young kids who are still suffering from CBeebies while being constantly stuck working from home (or otherwise) all day:

"I love Erik and Erik loves me
He's been at Tottenham since AVB.

He gets yellows, and they'll get reds;
He gets inside the oppositions heads.

He's always injured but worth a punt;
Because he's Jose's intelligent ****

I love Erik and Erik loves me;
He's been at Tottenham since AVB."

(for those who aren't familiar, it's this fucker...)

This is just wrong, sorry. Hes been really good so far this season, absolutely epitomises the "intelligent ****" Jose wants the players to be. He came on v Burnley and changed the game for us, to name just one example

agreed, but available for less than 50% of games and of those, plays very few minutes.

The only thing we are missing is his ability. We are not low on numbers or options, we just miss him. Therefore I think he is a valuable player to have as part of the squad. If our other options are not as good and ultimately make us miss Lamela then they should be upgraded. If we were short on options however i would agree we should sell.

It’s just too much we simply have to move him on now. Get Demari Gray in on a free on Jan young homegrown etc and not constantly injured.

love Coco but we’ve been carrying him for far too long unfortunately

Sorry mate but we’ve been carrying him for just far too long now. There will be a time that we are low on numbers and will need him and he won’t be available and that could cost us but aside from that why have a player on decent wages who’s non homegrown and who cost a fair whack of a transfer fee in the squad when he just barely contributes each season. Obviously he’s not going anywhere this season so for this season I hope he just gets fit ASAP and stays that way but from next summer I think we should 100% move him on.

I don’t think we can sell him. More than 100 games missed, unavailable for two full years’ worth of time out of the seven he’s been at the club, on £80k/week wages. What club in the world would expend a transfer fee, in the present environment where they’re all hemorrhaging money, on a player with that record?

That’s all well and good as far as I’m concerned because he’s an excellent squad player with a brilliant mentality when he’s available. That being said, I do think we need to bring in another creative No. 8/10 type to rotate with Ndombele and Lo Celso.

We’ve all been salivating at the prospect of the two of them partnered with Hojbjerg but we’ve not seen it a single time. For me, the reason is as simple as the fact that neither is fit enough to play twice a week, we’ve got two matches every week, and we’re shit whenever we play without one of them in the side. Mourinho has little choice but to rotate the two.

We’ve been linked in the media with players such as Sabitzer and Szoboszlai. Bringing in a player of that nature would enable us to partner Hojbjerg with two creative maestros and still be able to maintain a rotation. I’d be fine with not registering Lamela in Europe in order to create a non-HG spot to make it happen, we just simply can’t rely on him to be fit at any given time.

I feel everytime he plays he gives his all and rather him than someone who plays more and goes missing in games .
He still has a role to play in our success and look forward to seeing him back and rejuvenated.

Agree physically he lost a lot of his agility that made him the young tricky winger. It’s like he knows he can’t do what he did when he was younger so has adapted his game.

We have a deep enough squad with quality in multiple positions that we can cope with a couple injured players. I would far rather have a player like Lamela who when he is on the pitch can make a massive positive impact, than a lower-quality player who is less injury-prone. The concept of bringing in Demarai Grey who is 24 now and can't get into Leicester's first team is ridiculous.

People forgetting the huge impact he's had on games this season. If it's wasn't for Lamela we'd be out the league cup, and i believe that win against Chelsea really kickstarted our season.
