That's extremely harsh on a player that has always looked like he cared, no matter the state of the club.

Played through injury and put in some fine displays along the way, especially against the Arse. I'm certain he really loves the club.
I'm sure he does but he's dead wood now.

I'm not repeating the debate we had however many pages back.

I was only addressing the part where you said "the stats confirm that he's one of our most productive players"...that's a rather bizarre view of stats considering in his Spurs career it takes him two times as many minutes to score or assist in the Prem as it takes/took our ACTUAL most productive players - Dele, Kane, Son, Eriksen.
Eriksen no longer plays for us, so is not one of our "ACTUAL" most productive players. Is Lamela not our 4th most productive current player? (i.e. his place in our attacking 4 is justified).

if he is not even that close to Chadli in terms of output then he's miles off being one of our most productive players.
His productivity is similar to Chadli's, so to say "he is not even that close" is incorrect.

No, I'd much rather have Bale and/or Dele playing than any of Lamela/Bergwijn/Lucas. And when fit, GLC over Lamela all day. But that is for Jose to sort out.

The fact is there is a monstrous drop off in production from Son/Kane to Lucas/Lamela/Bergwijn, who are pretty much inseparable in terms of per 90 G, A, and even xG and xA (and actually Lamela has the lowest xG and xA of those 3).

Dele has shown he can produce at a level of the first two in the past. Bale has as well.

no goals no assists - he's not new to us or new to the Prem - why is his value even worthy of conversation? Not saying he is the only one, but for christs sake when you have fans who think Lamela is part of the solution, it's no wonder we can't win trophies.

Nobody has said he’s part of the solution - just that he’s nowhere near the most problematic player or who we should be looking to sell first.
Who cares what order we prioritize them. He should absolutely be gone in the Summer. Just as same as the last 3 summers.

Thought he played well today personally and has been one of the very, very few bright points of the last few games. Out of the many problems in our squad I don’t think Lamela is one. Should we upgrade at some point, yes, but I don’t think he is our weakest attacking player and thus shouldn’t be the first one to be replaced.

He is an offensive player with 0 goals and 0 assists in the league. It doesn’t matter how he plays, good or bad, if he can’t score or assist in the Premier League. There’s too much pressure on Kane and Son to deliver in every game because players like Lamela(and he isn’t the only one) can’t score or assist.

We lost so many goals and assists when Eriksen and Dele went awol. It’s only because we have games where Kane and Son goes godmode that we even have a chance to qualify to Europe in the league.

Got himself substituted with a completely pointless and needless foul. As soon as he does this it reduces his effectiveness to press and harass people so I can totally understand why he got subbed. Not like his replacement wasn’t the best player on the pitch by some distance or anything either.

But if you listened to the most umble greatest manager in the whole wide universe ever the other day, Lamela is not meant to score or assist...he's just meant to be chaotic

Wonder who scored the important goal in the Chelsea match to help us get to the final?

He’d fit perfectly in our back four then!

That's exactly the mentality from fans I am talking about - do you think Pep would keep playing Lamela with the kind of stats he has just because he scored a late equaliser once in a cup game? In the Prem, Lingard has scored more in 4 games than Lamela, Lucas and Bergwijn combined have all season, yet I regularly see fans post in support of those players. All the while we are prepared to indulge mediocracy we will never see significant improvement.

Yes he would.
It's about the team not the individual.
That's why Poch and mourhino play him when fit.
We've been chasing the premier League title been to the champions League final and league cup final without the backing of hundreds of millions like Man city United and Chelsea.
Lamela has been part of that team.
