I doubt highly this is a delay for US markets to wake up. This'll be the last thing anyone cares about there after Ruth Bader Ginsburg (supreme court judge) died - every news channel and social media algorithm will be about this and stopping Trump appoint a replacement.
I doubt it too, but more because that'd be silly. I don't think the back pages are too deeply affected by what's happening in the front pages. Bale is never likely to 'trend' on US twitter anyway.

Probably referring to the deal being a loan rather than a permanent move.
That as well. It's easy to forget that Bale isn't signing on a permanent, though I'm sure the option is there. But it does also suggest not all the i's have been dotted.

Re the announcements. I appreciate the fact we have been trying to calm each other down and that they will come eventually.

But you can't help wonder what's going on. If it's just Bale, then perhaps I can understand the OTT delay. But Reguilon? Ironically, we wanted him to have his own moment so surely his could have been yesterday. All so puzzling.

Oh well.

Reguilon is clearly 100% done, Zidane just confirmed it. We clearly want a double announcement. To announce him first would just come with the reaction 'where's Bale?' blablabla. So he won't get his 'moment', which is a shame, as arguably he will actually end up the more important signing.
