I love bale and want him to stay but my only concern is that he came to us just to get his match fitness up for the European championships which he has done. Once it’s over this summer will he be as motivated next season and give us his all? It’s a lot of money.

I mean, Wales have a world cup qualifying campaign and are very likely to reach a play off as Nations league group toppers, and the world cup is in 2022. I know that's not answering the question of 'will he give US his all?' but he's got plenty to play for, and is still - judging by the gleeful joy in fucking over Leicester today - enjoying himself.

Is it though? You could have him for one year and pay for him by selling Lamela. Bale's scored more goals this season in the league than Lamela has in his past 5 seasons in the league.

When we're discussing forward players we need forwards that score goals, not run around a bit
As long as he’s still motivated after the summer please sign him up!

So, excuse me if I’m too lazy to check... but is this Bale’s second best goal tally in the PL?

stopped being lazy went back a single page. Amazing isn’t it?

That Lamela comparison is scary.

Irrespective of whether Bale (or Kane for that matter) are still with us this season, I hope Levy is able to ask their opinions of where our weaknesses are in our first XI.

That first goal was some finish, we only have one other player who can do that (Kane), and potentially Son (on his day)

I hope he stays for another season. Gut feeling is he wont though which Is a shame as if he goes back to Madrid Zidane or no Zidane I can't see him playing many games.

I still think if we can get him next season with RM subbing most of his wages then it would be rude not to have him again.

Yes, his legs probably can't handle a 30 odd game season but he still have the technique, speed and goals to help the team, plus his experience is great for the younger players and potential new signings, depending on who they are.

Still think he’d be good to bring back, especially if Kane goes. Having Bale (he should never play any minutes prior to the final couple of matches in the Europa Conference, should we get that far) and Son playing out wide in the league is likely going to be needed to cushion the blow of Kane’s goals leaving the side. Unless we can get a younger version ready to step in, feel like you stick with the “devil you know.”

However, I hope any decisions waits until after the Euros.

Figured out what he meant by the chaos of saying where he'll be next season....

Club will release new shirts, Bale will stay, they don't want people to rush out and get the Bale 9 shirts as Lamela is going, but til that's done and the 11 shirt is available again he's not gonna be announced. It'll be chaos with people wanting to buy their new shirt with Bale on the back and the wrong number.... Absolute chaos!

I hope Levy stops by here for a Q&A. We could get him sorted out in no time.

Just saw this on fb

Anyone else see bale interview after the game

Reporter asked if he was staying , he said he already made his decision but didn't want to say anything as would cause issues

Then asked about kane and he said WE don't want him to leave , WE want him to stay at the club

why would he put himself as a WE if he wasn't going to stay ?

I think bale is going nowhere

Whatever happens, I’m so glad as a fan we got to see Bale back at WHL and so fitting that it was him who turned up today to score those two goals at the death to change the shape of the league. Second best goals and assists in the Pl having been horribly misused by Jose, barely being featured for months. It might not have been the year we dreamed of, but I can’t really put into words how it’s felt to see him net 16 more goals for us this year, something I never in my wildest dreams imagined.

I'm hopeful that he'll stay but if that was his last game for the club it was a better 'goodbye than his previous one. His goals have led us to the promised land of the Europa Conference and put arsenal's 25 year European football streak to the sword. Legend!

Say his wages cost £10m next season, where else we gonna get a 10 goals + 10 assists in all comps player for that? He has genuine quality not many players have, and is worth having around even if he just plays against the bottom half teams and in the crunch Bananarama Conference games
