Maybe I'm deluded but I honestly see this as good news in that it's clearly fucking last minute nonsense from Betis to try and concern spurs, last throw of the dice imo.

Was about to say the same thing. If Napoli want to overpay let them.

people are getting nervy because they don't know exactly what is happening, after it was a done deal. now it's not a done deal many of the nervy are blaming us, because it's Levy

that's why we are only in debt because the cost of the stadium. you don't buy a player that's not going to be involved. that 150-450 extra salary could cost in the long run paying another signing and being able to offer them a better wage.

the only teams that do this are teams that are in debt, or have owners that don't care about money

Well I'm not blaming any ITK as I take everything said with plenty of salt

Napoli missed out on James, so makes sense, but I do think he wants to join us so not too concerned.

I really don’t understand this meltdown. Gards himself said he is not ITK in his tweets today. He is only giving his opinion& his opinion usually is against Levy.

Some here asking where’s all the money. Well we paid 350m from club savings/profit for land & initial build of stadium. We still have 637m in loan to repay.

So anyone expecting everything will be different is just fooling themselves.

Be realistic in your expectation to avoid disappointments.

I still hope & believe we will get Sess & Lo Celso done by this week. If we do then it’s a good window for me. If we keep Toby & Eriksen then it’s a very good window.

I am not going into rant mode yet and going to give the Benefit of doubt to club. It’s not easy to be a buying club now hence you see not much deals happening in top6.

I am not asking you to trust Levy but at least be patient & see how this week unfolds.

Yeah. Certainly if it's coming from their local media.

Might be wrong but I'm pretty sure he has one of these mini-meltdown tweets EVERY SINGLE window?

I think some are assuming that if anything goes wrong, or Poch isn't happy that it's because of Levy. Yesterday, I cant remember who (ITK), said what should be obvious, that transfers are complicated, and they are complicated for nearly all teams. By all accounts we had agreed a deal with Betis, they then went and got greedy and changed what had been agreed. So it's highly likely that Poch is not happy with the way the TW is going NOT because of Levy, but because we're being messed around by other clubs.

It's not always our fault. I honestly believe Levy is ready to spend on these players. Doesn't mean we should if they move the goal posts.

Event sequence

1)
Poch not happy with holes in squad at end of window or with Levy telling him it was “uniquely difficult” but “lessons learned” for next time

2) Real Madrid start season terribly zidane sacked in November

3).........

He said he got the information from someone close though.

Poch not impressed doesn't mean he's unhappy but lets hope levy steps up - he needs to.

Definitely agree that now is not the time to panic, but I'd say now is the time to lower expectations everyday so you can slowly come to terms with the idea we likely won't get what we were hoping, maybe things will change quick and we'll be over the moon but I think gradually let the disappointment seep into your veins to avoid a meltdown. It's better this way otherwise come deadline day we'll be like kids who Santa didn't bother turning up for.

Ah but hasn’t @doctor stefan Freud told you? I am the prodigal son of SC!
To be fair, the boy’s been everywhere this window. He’s stalked Vinny and GLC, had intense inception- based moments with igi, got busted for a sex crime on Wimbledon Common, all while he’s planned and attended a wedding and honeymoon. Needs a blue screen against his profile for loyalty in the service of SC

I have not seen any reports in any media, English or Spanish, that have reported anything about "goal posts being moved" - We know more or less for a fact that we have made at least 1 bid, reported way back by BBC - since then, all we've learned from both sides of the media is that Betis just was/are not budging on their price. I think I have seen that buy out clause being referred to 250 times by now. Or have I missed any reports about Betis asking for more after an agreed price?

I have to admit, I did sense sonething in regards to Poch's comments about Levy.

He said he won't comment on his chairman yet has done many times before with no qualms. So either he was sick of the question or didn't want to be honest about how he felt.

Gards seems like a good guy buy he does tend to fly off the handle a bit when there's a hint of negativity. Could just be a case of Chinese whispers and Poch may be unhappy with how things are going but not necessarily directed at Levy.

Ive been positive and tried to apply reason so far but I'm under no illusion that if we don't get GLC and Sess then that's simply not good enough. If Levy doesn't get these deals over the line, well, not only will Poch be off but he'll face the wrath of many fans.

ZZ gets the Spanish Archer. MP gets the gig. Signs Eriksen, rehabs Bale, we get the Wolves dude.

GLC and Sess has to be the absolute minimum and that is only if Eriksen stays. If he goes then a replacement is also needed.

I still think its a joke that we arent even replacing Trippier and shoe horning a CB into the role instead.

If someone at the club just came out at said we don't have the money until the stadium is paid off, I'd be totally fine with it.

It's the yearly charade of "we don't need to sell to spend" and "150m will be spent this summer" followed by weeks and weeks of positivity and links only for it all to fall through in the end and blamed on some one else moving the goalposts.

We're probably just idiots for believing it all and obsessing over it, but nonetheless it is fucking exhausting and every summer is groundhog day, again!
