Skint Arsenal beating Napoli to a £72m player only for Napoli to go and nick one of our key targets would really round off the last couple of weeks!

If someone at the club just came out at said we don't have the money until the stadium is paid off, I'd be totally fine with it.

It's the yearly charade of "we don't need to sell to spend" and "150m will be spent this summer" followed by weeks and weeks of positivity and links only for it all to fall through in the end and blamed on some one else moving the goalposts.

We're probably just idiots for believing it all and obsessing over it, but nonetheless it is fucking exhausting and every summer is groundhog day, again!

Agreed.

We’ve addressed the main area of first team concern and that’s central midfield. Nobody can saw that we don’t have both quality and depth there now.

With Toby, Eriksen and Rose still here, any further signing will improve our options but not necessarily our day 1 game first team. Son, Sissoko, Trippier, Davies, none were trusted with many minutes early on.

We have two signing actively pursued without outgoings it seems, Sessegnon and Lo Celso. The former is seemingly heir apparent to Rose, who we can mostly agree is good enough and seems like he’s still here for another 6 months, and The latter would add to either an attacking 4 selection of Kane, Dele, Son, Lamela, Lucas, Eriksen and Parrott, which is some pretty awesome depth, or a CM2 / 3 selection of Sissoko, Winks, Ndombele, Dier and then Skipp and Wanyama, again not too shabby. Neither area is desperate for him, like Liverpool’s defence were desperate for VvD and Allison, but both areas would benefit from him.

This is a very good squad:

Lloris Gazzaniga
Aurier KWP
Alderweireld Foyth
Vertonghen Sanchez
Rose Davies
Winks Dier Wanyama
Ndombele Skipp
Dele Sissoko
Eriksen Lamela
Son Lucas
Kane Parrott

Now, should we get GLC, it’s EVEN less likely that we’ll see much of Wanyama, and there’s less pressure on Skipp, which are both positives. Also in terms of attackers, Eriksen is succession planned, Son and Lucas are freed up to understudy Kane, and our options our greater. Likewise, Sessegnon gives us depth which means Rose succession is pre planned, Davies is freed up for CB if needed, and in turn Foyth for RB, while his presence also gives more possibility to free up Son or Lucas to fill in for Kane and Parrott doesn’t get thrown right in at the deep end. However, while we will all, me included, be gutted to not add, there is already a very strong squad in place, who are coming into this season far better rested and also less injury riddled than last season, so if the worst happens and we do miss out, we aren’t fucked the way many are portraying it. And people might say I’m including Parrott, KWP and Skipp who are largely untested. So were Kane and Winks, so we’re TAA and Joe Gomez, so was Rashford. The upside of having to use these kids earlier on is that they become more likely to make the grade by experiencing men’s competitive football ahead of schedule.

Cloud lined with silver Biatchez!

Keep saying it and you will believe it!

I don't know why some people are so sure that Napoli aren't keen on GLC, they clearly have about 70 million burning a hole in their pocket, and have lost out on some key targets.

GLC and Sess has to be the absolute minimum and that is only if Eriksen stays. If he goes then a replacement is also needed.

I still think its a joke that we arent even replacing Trippier and shoe horning a CB into the role instead.
I agree with your first part but I don't think it's a joke at all about Foyth playing RB.

Firstly - It's Poch who is moulding him into this role - that's from the horses mouth.
Secondly - Foyth will be a damn good RB. I saw him live against Chile and was very impressed.

I think what I will find interesting is that for the last year even from the likes of Hoddle and Sugar we heard, there's money there we're waiting for the right players to come available but we have the money, Poch is being stubborn with who he wants etc. Well Lo Celso is available judging by the words of their manager, the sources indicate he very much would like to come. Now I do believe that Betis are being greedy and we'll see who wins the game of chicken out of them and Levy but if the scenario comes that Betis won't back down but Poch see's him as the right player and we don't pull the trigger what are we going to hear? That money is available but not the money Betis want? It'll be hard to spin that on Poch as it was before this summer.

I really don’t understand this meltdown. Gards himself said he is not ITK in his tweets today. He is only giving his opinion& his opinion usually is against Levy.

Some here asking where’s all the money. Well we paid 350m from club savings/profit for land & initial build of stadium. We still have 637m in loan to repay.

So anyone expecting everything will be different is just fooling themselves.

Be realistic in your expectation to avoid disappointments.

I still hope & believe we will get Sess & Lo Celso done by this week. If we do then it’s a good window for me. If we keep Toby & Eriksen then it’s a very good window.

I am not going into rant mode yet and going to give the Benefit of doubt to club. It’s not easy to be a buying club now hence you see not much deals happening in top6.

I am not asking you to trust Levy but at least be patient & see how this week unfolds.
I’m same as you, glass half full let’s wait till the windows closed but to be fair, Levy himself said the stadium won’t impact transfers and with history I get people’s jitters.

Let’s just hope it works out otherwise I’ll be just as pissed off as many others on here regardless of what Levy has done for the club. Because that will be the end of Poch.

Why do we only end up seemingly with just the one target at any one time for one position? Everyone else manages to actually get names floated to keep the process on the level. We always end up locking in and then show fuck all flexibility when in negotiations.

This window is frustrating as fuck.

Fucking hell it's dark in here at the mo.

Could all change tomorrow, heard there was noise about Levy meeting Betis on Tuesday I think it got deleted though, plus Betis are leaking Napoli interest which is a bluff imo.

I don’t need to convince myself of anything I’m just content in the knowledge that whatever happens, on 10 August the season kicks off and I get to go back to watching this club that I love play football, which is ultimately what I make my sacrifices to be able to afford to do. If by then we’ve signed all the players, wonderful, if not, my love remains pure, undying and unconditional.

I’m one of the lucky few whatever happens, and I love it ;)

Made the largest profit in world football last season and just signed a massive shirt sponsor with AIA. Put that double in the trophy cabinet!

Twenty years ago I was showing up to watch us finish 9th - 15th with the genius that was Leonhardsen signed to be our new playmaker in chief.

Trophies or not, I’m just grateful to have watched this beautiful journey that is still far from complete (y)

If you're affected by the meltdown on here, then I'd avoid Twitter. People are so desperate for transfer news (or the fact they're just idiots) a meltdown has ensued over "damning" Tweets made by "@AllthingsSpurs0"...

Gards said he’s not ITK but he also said that his rant/info had “come from someone very close” and he “knows it’s accurate”. (his words). Reading all the tweets it becomes clear that’s it’s not merely opinion.

Just for once, this years of all years, it would have been nice to get our targets in without the usual shenanigans; especially when Poch's future at the Club depends on it.
