All the reports coming out from Spain especially Mundo Deportivo just come across as Betis desperate to sell and angry at Levy for not paying the full 80 mill release clause to be honest, I can see why he hasn't with them making it so clear they need to sell but we can't fuck this up over brinkmanship. This new transfer window deadline gives these Spanish clubs a lot of leverage.

So they need money to buy Borja and a left sided replacement? There have been no other offers for Lo Celso? I say that means this one is as good as wrapped up.
Send them GKN as punishment for making us wait so long for Lo Celso

It’s also worth noting that Camarasa to Palace is a loan (fee £1.3m) with a larger fee later on. So they aren’t getting any more money from anywhere else unless they sell a different player. Also it looks like Betis are involved here with similar changes to structuring of that deal. Must be how they roll.

Camarasa was very good for Cardiff last season. £13m to sign permanent is a pretty cheap deal for Palace, yet they ask the moon from Tottenham for Lo Celso.

It seems like they are upping Lo Celso price just because we are a top 4 EPL club.

I remember the first Vincent Jansson rumour suggested Spurs were going to sign him for £9m and final price ended up being £17m.

I feel this is going the same way with Lo Celso, the rumoured price just keeps rising as the days tick on. I actually think Levy waiting to last moment is detrimental to the deal. I don't think he is going to save any money or get a discount by waiting to deadline day.

All that's conjecture.

I think this is quite significant and ties in with pretty much all of the ITK. If they've fucked about with the terms on a relatively low fee loan agreement, you can only imagine what kind of nonsense they've been trying with a deal of upto €70m.
I've been as frustrated as most that we haven't got this over the line yet, but it seems to me that this really hasn't been our fault.
Poch wants him, the player wants us, and Levy is going after him whilst also protecting the club from future extortion. I like what we're doing, but doesnt mean I won't be raging if we don't sign a couple more.

I'm not sure it gives them that much leverage. I'm not a fan of our window closing sooner but one thing for sure is that the Premier League clubs have more money to spend than most. Betis will know if they dont sell to us they're less likely to get big money elsewhere. So the clock is ticking for them too if they want a premium for their player. If it wasn't a Premier League club trying to sign him they'd probably not hold out for so much in the first place.

De Lo Celso to Borja Iglesias
Betis tightens the rope after the last Tottenham proposal of 52 million euros by the Argentine
Espanyol awaits the final movement through the tip
Tottenham insists on Lo Celso
gen_204

The week of the closing of the market in the Premier seems decisive to define the final roadmap of Betis planning that is still pending the future of Giovani Lo Celso and that Borja Iglesias has the desired forward. Thursday afternoon ends the term of signings in England, a day before the start of the competition, and in Betis awaits Tottenham, the team that has more firm interest in the Argentine.
The English team has been behind Lo Celso for months, but the high demands of Verdiblancas, initially assessing the left-hander at 75 million euros, blocked the operation. With the passing of the weeks and after verifying that no other team approached that intended figure, Betis has tightened the rope after the last proposal of Tottenham, estimated at 52 million euros and with eight more in variables.

Although the proposal already falls within the market value of Lo Celso, Betis wants the English team to make a final effort to satisfy Mauricio Pochettino, the great supporter of the Argentine. From England, with Daniel Levy as a tough negotiator, it is transmitted that this offer will be the last one made by Tottenham, which began offering 40 million. In addition, the Spurs leader is also immersed in other draft operations such as the possible incorporations of Bruno Fernandes, the midfielder of Sporting of Portugal, and Ryan Sessegnon , the left wing of Fulham, or the transfer of Christian Eriksen, the Danish midfielder who ends his contract in 2020 and has been reluctant to negotiate a renewal.
With this panorama, the future of Lo Celso must be cleared in the next few hours. With a serious face, and accompanied by Sidnei and Emerson, the Argentine left yesterday the sports city after half past one in the afternoon , after he returned with the team from Casablanca, where he traveled but remained without dispute any minute.

The multiple edges of the Lo Celso contract, with percentages in case of sale for the PSG (20% of the surplus value), Rosario Central (3%) and another amount for the agent and the player, cause that the final negotiation is not simple for Betis to match the numbers provided on your road map.

After the transfer of Junior and the availability of those 18 million euros, and waiting for what happens with Lo Celso and Camarasa, Betis wants to advance definitively for Borja Iglesias , before Rubi's desire to have the forward as soon as possible. "We are waiting for that, if Betis wants something, he will tell us. We set some payment terms and from there we have not moved. The ball is on the other side. When things are good for the three parties it will reach a agreement. As long as this is not the case, everything is stopped, " said the vice president of Espanyol , Carlos García Pont, when asked about the situation of the negotiations with Betis.

With the agreement with Borja Iglesias agreed for weeks, Betis is waiting to raise the money needed to undertake the operation, although always without compromising other operations that it wants to address in this market. In addition to the striker, the technicians consider the arrival of a left side that covers the low of Junior and that is competition for Pedraza essential .

The economic injection that would involve the sale of Lo Celso would allow Betis to face the final stretch of the market with availability to undertake the arrival of that side and also any other option that was put to shot before September 2.

I felt drunk reading this

I would guess Betis will lose leverage as there are less clubs that can buy him and will get less than we offered

It's more the leverage in terms of, they can wait until the last moment to blink knowing they have 3 weeks to replace players, where as if you try this with a prem club you need to give a certain amount of time for them to buy replacements.

So Lo Celso is second choice to Coutinho, but Bruno is most likely. Clear as mud!

If we could get Coutinho and Lo Celso I would drive Eriksen to Utd myself. Although Eriksen/Coutinho swap would be even sweeter.

JJ did say we have other options TBF.

I always had arguments with scousers about the Coutinho/Eriksen debacle but Coutinho would be our best chance of replacing Eriksens passing whilst also adding some that factor of being able to win a game from nothing, which eriksen did time for time but that was the main attribute of Coutinho. I'd say a fully invested Coutinho would be better than a frustrated Eriksen.

With regards to Ali Z info, it's Coutinho everyday of the fucking week it's Coutinho
Absolutely, but if we've struggled to agree a deal for lo celso for around 60m, I have absolutely no idea how we'd agree a 80m plus deal for coutinho, in the space of 2 days.

Sure I've seen before that Barcelona want to loan him out, absolutely no way we do that without an option to buy.

Obviously hope I'm wrong as he's a class player, but just can't see it myself.

If I was being really picky, Lo Celso and Coutinho as opposed to Fernandes and Coutinho for me.

Maybe it's just because I've seen more of Lo Celso.

Anyways, things might just be hotting up.

Good times.
