what point about Spurs or even the game in general are you making?
I wasn’t. Though if you want to clutch at something, the thinly veiled dig you made implying that our only way of getting the ball into attacking positions is Toby Alderweireld long balls is demonstrably incorrect. There, that’s my point, I’m done with this chat unless you fancy PMing me. I won’t continue in the thread.

So fucking annoying if GLC is injured again, we badly need him next to PEH in midfield. I swear someone at the club fucked up a black magic ritual a few years ago and as a result we are fated to have Sissoko in our starting 11 until the end of time.
Adebayor.....and it was juju, not black magic

Bad news re Gio ?

Luckily we’ve moved quickly this summer and replaced Ndombele with a similar creative type who will hopefully help far more than Tanguy ever did....

Oh no wait, ‘twas a dream

What exactly is the news?

I have absolutely no idea but as we’ve not seen him in any pre season games we’ve put 2+2 together and come up with 4!

Hopefully that isn’t the answer but best to be pessimistic just to be on the safe side

He’s still struggling with the same groin injury that hampered him last season.

So, no GLC clearly for Everton having had zero pre season. Given josé obviously won't pick ndombele, we could be fielding one of the least creative Tottenham sides in history. Particularly given winks is also out and it'll probably be PEH and sissoko in midfield. Basically not one player in the entire side with passing as a primary skill.

nailed on nil nil ?

You would expect the 1st XI to be fit and raring to go but ours is an absolute car crash.

Lloris - fit
Gazzaniga - N/A
Hart - N/A
Doherty - yet to play for us in any capacity
Foyth - unfit and no preseason
Aurier - meh
Davies - fit
Rose - MIA
Alderweireld - fit
Dier - fit
Sanchez - unfit
Tanganga - MIA
Hojbjerg - fit
Winks - MIA
Sissoko - meh
Lo Celso - injured
Fernandes - meh
Ndombele - grossly unfit and no preseason
Alli - fit but hasn’t played well for 2 years
Lamela - meh
Bergwijn- fit
Moura - fit but offensively ineffective
Sessegnon - fit
Kane - unfit and no preseason

A draw against Everton is looking like a good result as we’ve no central midfield and our one and only recognised striker is unfit and had no preseason.

I understand you are very pessimistic but Everton aren't in better fitness situation than us and they don't have any central midfield

Id say the same, Ive no idea what their fitness is like. No idea what their preseason has been like either. Heard absolutely nothing about their results.

I think we have enough in our team to get a win against Everton. All that is required is a disciplined performance from the defensive functions and Son, Lucas, Kane or Dele to get a goal. We are capable of that.

Even without Gio and Winks, Ndombele could play advanced and so can Lamela. And if Everton sit back that negates the talents of their two biggest signings (when announced)

I'm not overly concerned.

I keep seeing people staring as fact that Lo Celso is injured, but to my knowledge there is no such confirmation. Could someone kindly provide a link?

The same thing happened last time, rumors that Gio was injured surface and everyone lost their shit and it turned out it was complete bollocks.

It's almost like people are just desperate for bad news in order to fulfill their self wallowing.

That’s how SC rolls.

Ally Gold’s update
Did he says the club have told him, or is he speculating based on the curious absence? Because there’s a huge difference between the two.

He referred to a José press conference before/after the Palace game when he said Lo Celso has been carrying a groin injury and will require all of the close season and preseason to recover from it.

Ok so nothing current then.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m pretty sure we’re not seeing him v Everton, but the hysteria based on very little is, well, very SC I guess.

Astonishment retracted.

He hasn’t featured during preseason, he’s therefore either ill or injured. Likewise there’s no sign of Winks or Tanganga.
