So, no GLC clearly for Everton having had zero pre season. Given josé obviously won't pick ndombele, we could be fielding one of the least creative Tottenham sides in history. Particularly given winks is also out and it'll probably be PEH and sissoko in midfield. Basically not one player in the entire side with passing as a primary skill.

True, and obviously not great, but as i just mentioned in the Ollie Watkins thread, this pre season we have seen a deliberate tactic of Son spinning and running beyond defenders as soon as our defence get the ball, with Alderweireld and Dier knocking long, accurate passes into the space. It seemed to work pretty well tbh so i'd expect a similar type of approach when our midfield isn't at it's most creative. Might not please everyone, but would be better than letting Sissoko try and thread clever balls through.

Would also have to add that Dele will obviously be dropping in to try and link play - again, not as good as having Gio, but it's not all doom and gloom.....yet.

Unfortunately all the opposition needs to do is sit deep to negate that, and let us have the ball in midfield and wait for us to give it away.

This is why we need another creative player in the squad imo. Gio out and all of a sudden there's only Lamela. I'd rather have 45 mins of Ndombele in a more advanced role tbh.

That really shows how mess our squad is. Let's assume we buy a striker (I belive we do), it means that we are stronger in 3 positions we all agree were crucial to strenght: RB, DM/CM, backup ST. That's pretty good window. And yet we are still left with big holes.

It's true. In theory that hole is exactly the one we bought Ndombele to fill and on paper him and Hojbjerg is a great CM2: ball-winning and tenacity paired with excellent passing and creativity from deep.

Question is, will it work in reality? If Ndombele is fit and puts in a shift then yes, but that's a very big if indeed.

Yup. It had totally gone to seed in defence, midfield and attack.

So fucking annoying if GLC is injured again, we badly need him next to PEH in midfield. I swear someone at the club fucked up a black magic ritual a few years ago and as a result we are fated to have Sissoko in our starting 11 until the end of time.

we need more than just a Toby ping to keep the opposition guessing!

That's a bit of an overstatement.

I was going to mention the 90s but even in the mid-naughties.

play the point not the man.
Says the resident neg rep without explanation king.

Ok, let me rephrase:

It is so incredibly boring to see a poster use almost his every comment across every thread to do nothing but deride, complain about, and put down practically every aspect of the club he purports to support, as you appear to have done in the past 8 years.

Better?
