The commentators seemed to forget that he has been injured for a long period.

Full fitness, the midfield three has to be:

N'dombele - hojbjerg - lo Celso

Agree but Mourinho says he’s struggling for fitness currently.

How many games has he actually played for us at full fitness since he signed? 6,7?

Might seem greedy so soon after the transfer window, but we could really do with signing another quality midfielder in the Jan window if a deal is there to be done.

Made a massive difference when he came on! Need to get him into that starting 11 ASAP. Hopefully get his fitness up and get a good run with no injuries for a change

Jose made some interesting comments about him post game. Said he’s still finding his fitness and has a lot of work to do on that front before he’s ready to play any deeper than number 10. Said that him and Tanguy could play CM together but only once they are both fit enough.

It will be very interesting to see him deeper alongside PEH with Ndombele in front of them.

Although we’d lose Sissoko physical presence, but maybe fact Lo a Celso is a lot better technically would mean we’ll pass better and not need that brute force so much?

I think Lo Celso has the physicality needed with skilful feet and vision. Unfortunately for Sissoko he only has the physicality and lacks even the basics of the other two.

Personally I'd like to have Ndombele much more on the ball. Under Mourinho's style of play that would suggest a more deeper position. Against Brighton he played in a higher 10 position and was wasted imo its a very difficult role to get right (ask Dele). If Dele not playing that role I'd rather Lo Celso is played there with Ndombele and Hojbjerg deeper if we're playing 4231.

Jose on Lo Celso post Ludogorets:

"Good with the ball and not good without the ball. He is not in good physical condition. His preparation has been up and down. He is coming now step by step. I feel when he plays he's not the Gio that we know and that we know he can be an amazing player. What he does with the ball we know is incredible but we need more intensity and better in the transitions. He played for an hour though and it was a good let's say training session for his match fitness."

Thought it was a step forward for GLC tonight. Jose clearly thinks he is maybe at 60%. Hopefully over the international break more work can be done but a bit frustrating that he will miss out on match minutes for a couple of weeks.

Surprised with Mou's statements. I thought Gio was pretty decent at defensive duty. I think Mourinho prefers Sissoko and tries to justify why Gio is not a starter. With his statements I see more and more that Tanguy and Lo Celso start together.

I feel the same too. I'd have to watch it again as I can't say I watched Lo Celso closely enough to be able to say one way or another for sure but I know initially it seemed as if his work rate was fairly good.

Yup. Does anybody know if he will be off with Argentina or not? Would of course be much better for us if he stayed and worked on his fitness.

He could do with the match fitness
As long as they look after any small issues he may or may not be carrying then I agree. He looks like he needs more competitive playing time. I feel Jose’s comments about him were a little ott, he didn’t look bad out of possession but he’s not completely fit that is also true.

Is there anywhere I can find out how many minutes he has been on the pitch at the same time as Ndombele this season? I bet its not even a full match worth.

Start them both Sunday please Jose!
