I think it’s because when they come up against defenders who are majority right footed it makes it easier for the defender to stop them going on the outside.I can only echo what was said the other day...why is it only lefties who get accused of being too one footed!? It's weird.
Just out of curiosity, and not having a dig, but have you watched much of him before? It took him almost half a season to warm up at Betis but he is extremely talented. His skills won't come through until he learns the league, the pace etc. But I have very little doubt he will become an important player for us and I have watched a lot of him over the past few seasons.
Take away the goals and Liverpool have had a terrible season! Was ok tonight, take away the goal and he really wouldn’t have stood out. Think he needs to move inside, not sure about him on the right wing.
"No pressure, Gio, just make sure you're as good as one of the best ever Premier League players at his peak and you'll have met expectations here, lad."He will be as good as David Silva in his prime.
You're right, he's not in Eriksen's class, he actually puts in a shift and puts his foot in.m
I feel like he is holding back or rather something is holding him back. You can clearly see he has great technical qualities but I dont know, seems like he isnt too confident. I dont know.
I think he needs a complete run of games and think he and Lamela should really be playing more often
Just read a couple of pages and the consensus is that Gio was great tonight. I don't agree. He is clearly very talented and his effort - particularly closing down and tracking back - couldn't be faulted. His passing, however, was generally terrible. I don't blame him for this because he's hardly played and it will take him a while to adjust and integrate, but let's call it what it was.
Still think he is better suited as an 8.
I reckon he just needs a break where circumstances means he's forced to start a league game or 2 and he'll take the opportunity with both hands.
