Without question it is a total and utter disgrace that as yet Hugo has not got one single winners medal to show for his time at Spurs.
Bill Brown, Pat Jennings, Ray Clemence, Eric Thorsvedt, Paul Robinson and Hugo Lloris are the best goalkeepers Spurs have ever had.
Probably before your time but you forgot Ted Ditchburn too

Hugo’s press resistance and passing has been unreal for France so far ffs

he’d be kicking the ball straight out of play and making howlers if this was Spurs

Yep - that would also mean that a keeper would have lifted the trophy in three out of the last four World Cups (Casillas 2010).
That Spain side was incredible. In hindsight any of their starting 11 could have been captain of that team, leaders absolutely everywhere.

He’s also two games away from being the first ever captain to win two world cups.
i kinda wanted england to win it so we'd had two WC winning captains at the club at the same time.,

i was trying to think if that had ever happened before. maybe real madrid with castillas and r.carlos or something? but i don't think that's correct.

could have been us!

Cafu was captain in 2002, and regardless Carlos had left Real by 2010.

By the end of this season World Cup winning captain Hugo Lloris will have had the 6th most appearances of all time in our colours only:

Steve Perryman
Pat Jennings
Gary Mabbutt
Cyril Knowles
Glenn Hoddle

will have played more games for Tottenham Hotspur

Remarkable goalkeeper - taken for granted, & like Kane, until they no longer play for the Lillywhites, far too many ‘supporters’ won’t understand just what they’ve had…

For me he's the biggest legend of our modern era. He has spent his entire prime with us, while being one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He's France's most capped player ever, and has been their captain in 83 % of those matches. He has captained France in more matches than their third most capped player has caps.

We really should show him the same loyalty he has shown us.

Hope they don't, but if France is crowned champion this Sunday, would that make of Hugo Lloris the greatest player to have ever played for the cockerel/Spurs badge?

Yeah, I know, very strong words, but the achievements are there (well, almost at least).

Been massively disappointed in Simon Jordan who has joined in the nonsensical argument of "he's paid millions to score". As soon as that argument is made, the conversation is over for me because you are trying to rationalise with a very limited viewpoint.

Also, he didn't 'bottle it', he lost his nerve slightly, even a little nerves can effect the accuracy. Besides, there is a goalkeeper there too, you aren't simply finding a spot and then hitting it there because the GK could still read it.

Yeah… I don’t feel too confident in our ability to win penalty shootouts if it comes to it in the cups

Shame as he was absolutely brilliant all tournament long and all match long. Sad ending for him.

What a shame, its as if Spurs players turned up in the final...10 shots on goal...

Now going to be scapegoated for not saving one of the pens...

Scapegoated by who? When has it been down to a keeper for not saving a penalty in the shootout. The first French guy who missed was never going to score. You could see it on his face.

Such a shame for him, the second it went to pens you just knew the Argies were going to win.
He should have saved one of them pens as they weren’t great, reminded me of Shilton in Italia ‘90.
He’s had a really good tournament though, be interesting to see if he carries on at international level.
