Rumours are true, he's off 👍🏼

Been a fantastic servant to the club and I wish him all the best.

Thank you Hugo 👏🏼
Deserves a top send off, has been a fantastic player for us and hopefully people don't let the end of his time with us overshadow just how good he was. Cheers Hugo 👏🏼

I'm ok with him doing a lap AFTER the game for a send off~ best wishes n all.
Him playing a few minutes or on the bench is too sentimental in today's game.
That works for me, just want him to get some sort of send off. He's earned that. Very few players stay with a club that long these days, he helped usher in the new era of our club and stadium with consistently helping us get champions league.

Be better if he came out to the crowd either before the game or at half time as there is every chance the Bournemouth game is a tough one and not sure people will be in the mood after.

Chat with Coytey and some highlights would be lovely.

Have to bring him out before the Bournemouth game. Great servant, best goalkeeper during my lifetime. All the best, Hugo.

I’d like him to come out and in the form of interpretive dance show us his thoughts and feelings on his time at Spurs.

Those of you talking testimonials, i think you are living in pre Premier League days where players needed a pay off to allow them to transition into being a normal civilian. Maybe become a pub landlord.
Once premiership money came in, these guys could afford to buy a pub every week with their wages. Unless it’s for charity, there’s no way it will happen.

I suggested MLS would be a good possible move for him. Wish him all the best, just a shame we never won anything with him as captain.

Didn't realise they were for money purposes. I thought they were a way to say thank you for long service? Hugo has been with us for 11 years, captain for the vast majority of it. I think he deserves something for than a tedious YouTube video.

It can be like Ledley's game. Mixture of past and present from his time during an international break or the summer.

Not been many testimonials since the day they didn't give Anderton one.
To be fair the idea of a testimonial is to give the player a last payday with gate receipts going to the player. It was from an era where the pay was much less and the players weren't able to enjoy the luxury life that players do today.

It's not really necessary anymore as it costs the club a lot to put on a friendly if they don't recapture their expenses

I think Anderton has said that Levy did offer him one a few years later.

anyway back to Hugo. Please bring him out for Sundays game for the fans to show their appreciation.

Probably an unpopular opinion but although he's been a great player for us over the years I would remember him much more fondly if:

(a) he'd left a couple of years ago before his form dropped off a cliff & (b) hadn't got done for driving while absolutely shitfaced

Yeah pretty unpopular opinion!
A great servant for the club. A keeper who was a little jekyll and Hyde at times, but his reactions reflexes and agility were unbelievable. Glad he has found another club and I hope he gets a good send off from the club.
