I've heard stories of youth players being on ridiculous amounts of money, even more the the figures reported of Tanganga latest rejected offer.
£15k a week? That’s an insult in today’s game when you consider what a big talent he is and how good he has been.
NoAm I alone in think £15k a week is good for someone who’s played very little games
The Spurs beat writers, including the Athletic ones, will build up contacts and get fed stuff from the club and agents at times. It’s part of their job to build up that network.Unless I’ve missed something, the Athletic are fine for opinion pieces (ish) but have absolutely no contacts or insider knowledge. I sincerely doubt Charlie Eccleshare has any way to find out the details of Levy and Tanganga’s agents discussions. It’s made up bullshit.

Well given that I’m yet to see the Athletic accurately report or reveal anything, their writers are pretty shit at that part of their job.The Spurs beat writers, including the Athletic ones, will build up contacts and get fed stuff from the club and agents at times. He really hasn't shown anything to justify a massive pay rise. 15k with performance related bonuses sounds reasonable. If he progresses hell get more.
We won't pay 30k a week if he hasn't shown he justifies it yet and may never justify it. It sets a precedent. Any player plays a few first team games will expect the same whether they are worth it or not. Chelsea are now in a position where they are paying decent prospects 80k a week. The can afford we can't.The problem lies with what he can get elsewhere. There’s a reported number of decent clubs looking at him and if they’re offering him say £25-30k per week then unless we’re competitive in our offer he’ll go elsewhere. Say this was Davies, Foyth, Lamela etc then I wouldn’t be bothered if they left. Whereas with Tanganga he’s young, very promising and can develop into an integral part of our 1st team/squad in the very near future. To let him go would be madness and very costly indeed.
