Say he's 29 then. I hate it when people use falsehoods to embellish their argument.

How does it embellish my argument? At 29 or 30 he is highly unlikely to improve.

Conte said it best yesterday, all well and good scoring a stunner but he needs to be getting double figure goals from his position. Conte would rather he scored 10 tap ins a season over 1 or 2 screamers.

What makes not rating him particularly highly an agenda?
The most annoying trend on this forum is the usage of the word "agenda".

Yesterday was the perfect example of the good side of the Lucas experience. Next game we have absolutely no idea what we'll get.

There are lots of terms people use to write off other people's opinions and analysis. Not just in football, but across all discussion.

"Agenda" is largely a meaningless term. There is a poster who with no exaggeration seems to post negatively and blame Sanchez in pretty much every post. In his case accusing him of having an agenda makes some sense. But I'd say this is pretty rare.

I like Moura. He works hard, gets a few goals and doesn't hide. But ultimately I don't think he is a good enough player for a team aiming for where we want to be. I'll praise him when he plays well but in any discussion about him as a whole my view will maintain that he isn't good enough to be a starter.

I don't believe that makes me a man with an agenda.

Good question.
I suppose its a reason as old as SC..as old as sport opinion .The player has had a patchy history , but emerges into the light for several months now....but people continue to rate him as he was rather than is .The 'agenda' is that some ,in spite of this form, claim the player is permanently useless regardless of this. (However , I accept the use of the word , 'agenda' was inappropriate and regret doing so)

Added to this he tries so hard...when certain others don't . This offends my personal concept of fairness .

He certainly isn't a player deserving of criticism compared to most of the rest of the squad at this time.

I like his attitude, work rate and the fact that he doesn't hide. At the moment he is outperforming Bergwijn, Alli and Gil. He has earnt his place.

But this season he has only scored 1 in the league. He's quite head down resulting in few assists and poor decision making at key times. The fact that he is a starter is a sign of how poor our options are right now.

But I do like him and will continue to support him.

For what it is worth I totally agree with the point you were making. That was Moura's first league goal for a very, very long time. A RWF ideally needs to be scoring 1 in 3 (with regular assists) for a team with top 4 ambitions. Moura is more like 1 goal in 10.

Simply not true.

You know you will get someone who works incredibly hard for the team, runs non-stop, tracks back tries to beat his man, creates space for others....

You just don't know if his end product is going to be great or if his passing is going to be accurate - which while important things to want to rely on, is only a part of his game that keeps him in the side right now.

I put him in the same category as Aaron Lennon. He always works hard for the team and tracks back to help the fullback. He has moments of excellence and will get you on the edge of the seat for short moments. His end product is hit and miss though and his lack of goals and assists will always come up. Many will see him as a squad player but there's no issue with him having the odd run in the team. He's also a very popular character and a bit of a cult favourite among the fans.

Bloke was literally robbed of a tap in by Matt Targett when we played Villa. He's trying to get into the right positions, he had a shot saved v Brentford too. It feels like he is having more efforts at goal than Kane in recent matches.

I think it's been a massive help for Lucas that we've found his position. He is not and never has been a winger, playing too far forward takes away from his strengths too.

This new role of progressing the ball from midfield has really seen him step up and he's at his best when he's running at defenders right through the middle.

He's still erratic in possession and some of his passing is still wayward, but with his hard work and especially his pressing he is the best option we have right now.

I think, even at his age, there is still more to come. He can be replaced in the first 11, but not someone who I'd consider selling.
Also someone who, along with the likes of Skipp and hoijberg, that even if their not performing they are still putting a shift in. Which is absolutely vital when you compare him with other squad members.

yes and no. Given that skills rarely improve at that age one would have to agree especially when you consider that He locks his ankles too much when receiving the ball. At the same time, Some of his issues are more mental which can be corrected at a late age with a coach that figures out how to reach him.. Also, playing in a system more suitable to his style will always raise his game. Personally I think hes an amazing squad player to have and a borderline starterAnd I still fall back to what pep said which was he was 1 of 3 forwards on Tottenham that were unplayable

I'll say it again, for a player who grew up playing futsal, his touch is really inconsistent. The one saving grace is that Conte was able to improve Lukaku's touch while he was at Inter, so hopefully the same can happen with Lucas.

Think Lucas could be a decent RWB under Conte.

Our current options offer to little offensive output imo. Lucas already has the engine for that position.

Think he’d be wasted out on the wing. He’s been very good at driving through the centre lately, as well as putting in some very good through balls.
