think he gets a fairly comfortable ride from spurs fans due to his legendary exploits in Holland tbh. A quick look shows he has 2 league goals this season in 33 appearances. 3 last season in 30 appearances . 4 the season before that in 35 league appearances.

pretty bad for a forward, I think any other forward gets emerson royal levels of abuse
I think the point is maybe our players, even Emerson, don’t deserve the levels of abuse they get. Especially when they put in very effective performances like Lucas did yesterday. He was great in the first half. But you wouldn’t know it looking at the posts on here, in the match thread, or the bed wetting that went on before the match when he was picked.

I don’t think it’s deserved for a player that almost always tries to make things happen in a game, never hides, and always works his bollocks off. He might not be a nailed on starter for us, but yesterday some plonker even suggested cancelling the guys contract!

thats not at all unique to him though is it, how many effective performances has Davidson had, but yet when he gets picked the forum acts like conte has drafted in a player from a pub league. same goes for every full back at the club until only recently have sess, royal, and doherty gotten some respect.
holjberg was getting it constant not long ago despite being a mostly a rock since he signed. Lucas has generally been a poor to average forward for 3 years now as pointed out by solid and very underwhelming stats. but he isnt being booed off or anything. And all in all i think he has a lot of goodwill with the majority of non forum dwelling fans

Wish he'd run at players more when out on the wing cause his burst of pace is quite something.

Seems to prefer a pass.

I do agree he did decent yesterday but to take the next step up as a team we need better than Moura coming off the bench. You say he could have had two assists, but at the end of the day he didn't, and the consistent story from his time here is his end product is next to non existent.

How often when you bring Moura on does he genuinely change the game? If Kulu is injured, the drop off in quality to Moura, like in many positions throughout the squad, is far too big.

We simply need better, he isn't good enough even as a squad player, because he doesn't have any end product.

Working hard and never hiding isn't good enough for an elite team going for the big prizes, you need top quality too. We need to move away from just lauding players for their work rate.

We need to get to the stage, like Liverpool and City, where you have four or five elite attackers all rotating for the top 3 positions in attack. At the moment we have three and then Berg and Moura who are just nowhere near the level we need. It needs to be fixed in the summer, we can't be going into next season in the same way.

He put the ball on a plate for Kane twice, it wasn’t Moura’s fault that Harry missed both chances. Moura played very well first half.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t be looking to get better or more consistent players in. I’m saying that people don’t give the guy the credit he deserves even when he does play well.

Before the game, some of the stuff being said about him was out of order, but he came in and did his job and was a large part of why we played well in the first half.

Possibly but not fact, could be the same plonker that said it was time to bench Sonny during the Man City away win. He scored soon after he posted it. WTF rating

We have a dreadful time vs low block opposition. We simply have no attackers who can often beat a man. The nearest we've got is Moura and yesterday he was good.
Yes we need to buy but this sort of technique is very expensive and may not come with effective pressing included .

I reckon Moura may have a place in our squad next year, also Conte has improved many players tho at 30, its hard to envisage ..

Moura just isn't the answer. Someone with pace is great but if they have no ability to be intelligent with the ball then what is the point?

He runs down blind alleys, inevitably runs into trouble and actually doesn't run in behind very often. He generally runs with the ball not without.

He doesn't score enough and he doesn't assist enough and in general is way too inconsistent.

Like him as a player but I see more in Bergwijn and Kulu.

played well yesterday, guy deserves some respect, there was a period this season he was our best player (the boos when nuno subbed him example of his importance at that time), he loves the club and usually very good against poorer teams in cup r European games, something that can be important next season

I love Lucas, he gets it and seems like he cares and of course there was that hat trick. However when watching him I always think he could've been so much better if he had a football brain. His technique is fantastic, especially his dribbling, but how often does he make the wrong decision and run into blind alleys?

That's the biggest difference between him and Son. Son is a willing runner, while lucas is reactionary. Still have a lot of time for him and has his uses, but reckon he'll be further down the depth chart come the start of next season.

Finally people are starting to wake up and see how limited he is. Been saying this for years, but always got slated for it.
Can't blame him for his work rate, but football wise he has not got the level required. Right now he just takes up a expensive spot in our squad. We need a hungrier and younger player in for him. I thank him for his work here and all he's done for us, but his time is up.

Yup exactly this. I think we will try and move him on but not sure whether there will be many options.

If he had Deli’s brain and composure he’d be twice the player he is - shame, because there’s loads to like. He’s very talented

The issue is, no matter how hard he tries, he constantly runs in to blind alleys and his end product is truly horrific.

You can’t play in a front 3 and have no goal threat or creativity.

We have to upgrade him in the summer and get genuine competition for Son, Kane and Deki.
