Yeah but he'd have gone to a team looking for a backup in October. Other teams are planning now too, and Norwich know they have an upgrade in midfield and can plan around him. He's not an afterthought. This is putting Skipp's medium to long term development above the team in the short term and is absolutely what we should be doing for the medium to long term benefit of the first team.

Ideally he'd have been loaned out last season and we'd be giving him minutes this season, but as we didn't I'm glad to see him go to a good team where he'll hopefully rack up some experience. The mistake we made was not giving him the chance to go out on loan before now, not loaning him now.

I was surprised about Norwich being the club that he would go to, was thinking he would go to a prem side. However, on reflection it should be a good move. Farke gets the team playing in a way that uses the ball well, they will be aiming for promotion so he'll be part of a team under pressure to win and he should get plenty of matches.

I think we forget he is still on 19. Ideal time to head out for a season

We have plenty of senior players who can play CM to get us through Europa qualifying and the league cup... Lo Celso, Winks, Sissoko, Gedson, Højbjerg, Dele, Lamela, Dier
