Like this signing but also wary....

Think he is exactly the type of player we need and i have actually liked his game when i watched him. So that seems good.

On the other hand, in the back of my head, he strikes me as the type of player that when we sign him he never lives up to expectation but if literally anyone else had signed we would all be complaining that we didn't sign him.

It's about showing the bare minimum. Players names is the absolute basic bare minimum, if you can't get them right it shows people don't give a toss.

Does it hell... there’s many a name, UK and foreign that people struggle to pronounce. It doesn’t mean they’re disrespectful or don’t give a toss. We’ve overseas staff at work whom have 20 letter 1st and surnames... they’re beyond impossible to pronounce.

Exactly this.

A forum is about sharing opinions and ideas. If you can’t get the very basics of simply getting a name right why should I take any opinion (football or otherwise) seriously?

What in the name of all things ITK are POTL and KOTL?
POTL, phantom of the lane, was a good ITK on another site COYS I think, bit in love with himself though, went balls out on Willian being done then stopped posting when it fell through iirc.

No idea who KOTL is though

POTL without a doubt did have good info, he would have injury news and I think called VDV sooner than anyone else. He was a bit self absorbed, but again, when you're looking for inside info on an online forum the bad must come with the good. And if you've ever spoken to someone higher up in a corporate setting, especially something as competitive and base as a sports club, he wasn't all that bad in terms of condescension. Blue and Yellow, Bap Bap Americano, the Willian meltdown and subsequent disappearance were all classics. ITKs with character always are the best - why it's great to have Trix and Herc around.

Perhaps the best piece of ITK I've ever seen on here though:

"Ben saying, after Luka got his reception today...Niko apparently said to Modric how could he leave Spurs after that...Modric replied 'I can't'"

Honestly I think not getting a player's name right is simple disrespect and lack of courtesy.

What if the poster has dyslexia? Or if they have special educational needs? Or if they just struggled at school to learn how to read and write properly but try to join in on this forum because they love Spurs and want to be involved? Or if they don't see it as being quite as important as other things in life? Or if they are a child who are still learning? Or if they were in a rush and didn't have time to proof read their post?

Is it disrespectful to refer to Alderweireld as Toby, because I am too lazy to type his surname? Or Sanchez as Dav? Or Walker-Peters as KWP?

I'm genuinely curious because I agree it can be annoying to see names constantly mis-spelt but I also understand that there are legitimate reasons for this happening so try not to be too judgy or pedantic.

God help us if we ever sign any Thai players. It'll only be @Marty and @Sweech who will be allowed to post here.
