If given a choice, Hojbjerg or Kondogbia, which one?
Kondogbia is surely the better player but Hojbjerg has good premiership experience and is younger.
Needing a strong squad I’d love both of them and get rid of either Sissoko or Winks.
I’d also replace Dele with Grealish and also exchange Lamela and cash for Zaniolo.
Who’d be a manager,hey?
Kondogbia can play LB and over 6 foot ;) ...

Cheers mate. We’ve all got our stories from this period but it’s nice to start visiting here again after a self imposed break from all things social media.

This might sound silly but with everything the club must be suffering from Covid (due to cancelled matches & events), wouldn’t it be. a good idea to promote someone like Skipp?

I don’t know this player but £25m seems an unrealistic fee for us to be spending right now.
Completely agree with you about that re: Skipp and Hojbjerg. It seems like the club is under pressure to perform next season after the season we’ve had so I think there will still be a sum of money set aside to spend on creative deals and loans [and additional funds will be raised through player sales]. There were rumblings that signing Hojbjerg would make financial sense as we could work out a swap deal for KWP and Hojbjerg with minimal additional financial outlay, but now the media are reporting that Southampton aren’t interested in that transaction so the deal may be unreasonable.

Will be interesting to see how things develop this week and next. Talks are that Skipp [who just signed a new deal] might want a season on loan to develop and Jose could green light it if a new DM comes in with Winks deputizing in the position.

Just went on GOT (main Everton Forum) to see their thoughts on Hoj-gate tonight.

Nothing particularly interesting, except that they're even more cynical than we are and a lot of them think it's obvious that Hojbjerg doesn't want to sign for them and they have enough players with that attitude already.

Once the BBC article came up they lost interest and started discussing Alessandro Pistone's facial hair instead (it's highly questionable if you ask me).

On a side note, their forum is like the equivalent of Goodison Park compared to SC's new shiny 62,000 seater. Looks like a relic from the early 2000s and I could practically smell the bovril and stale piss the second I clicked the link.

Just venturing back in after lockdown. Who is this guy? Why are do we all seem so keen on him?

Here you go mate.

Completely agree. I actually quite like the Henderson comp. He seems like the type of tenacious, aggressive, all-action defensive midfielder we've been sorely lacking. He's also got above-average athleticism and height (6'1). And, his range of passing is surprisingly impressive. Give this a look and I think you'll agree. In the right system, where his focus is to break up play, wreak havoc, and give it to the attack-minded midfielders, I think he could be extremely effective and a bargain at <25m.

Who’s our next manager?

Why do Everton fans call their forum ‘Game of Thrones’? Sad!

I do find Evertons transfer strategy perplexing. They have several midfielders all very samey - what they fuckin need is a top class striker and some creativity and perhaps another defender... oh and a GK

I doubt very much given how much our manager knows of the market that the choices are either Kondogbia or Hojbjerg.
Kondogbia is older, more an old school strong athletic player but I think PEH is liek the more Modern deep lyongnmidfielder.
Anyway it seems as though Southampton have decided to play games and prematurelyshow their hand - very silly in this market. I would very surprised if they get anywhere near their valuation now. I am now left somewhat in a dilemma on young Kyle given his performances in the last month.

I think the key phrase in that post from Trix is “if Mourinho has picked him.”

Mate you should learn to ignore what I actually write, and just "read between the lines". That way you could interpret it to mean whatever best fits you're current line of thought.

Jeeeeesh what a noob.

Everton are basically, by definition, always well stocked in the "players who don't want to be here" department

If only we'd got panicked and taken the bait.

Obviously there are times when it's appeared to us that Levy has taken too long, but often it's prudent to understand value, your budget and the dark arts that the other side will be employing.

They collect average midfielders and need another one to replace schneiderlin. This guy fits the bill perfectly.
