A really good player? Or a really good Serie A player?
Alberto Aquilani was a really good Serie A player...

I'm just saying I'm not 100% convinced yet that Bentancur has what it takes to be an EPL-challenging DM, and happy to be proven wrong. Might as well leave it at that.
He already has proved it. Oozes class every time he’s played for us,

I'm glad these posts are an argument rather than any rumours piping up that bentancur could leave. He's been quality and really changed our midfield, allowing us to control games more.

I recall his first 20 seconds in a spurs shirt, I think he got immediately on the ball very classily then fouled someone ?.

He'll definitely play a major role next season and is one of our better players. A quality signing ?

Rest assured, I already know the routine. There's a strict code for conformity which I refuse to abide by.

Forums dedicated to one club like this one are always filled with strict conformists and passive-aggressive idiots like yourself, both of whom absolutely hate being challenged on any topic.

Water off a duck's back for me. By all means keep crying about your "rep", clearly you take this stuff very seriously. ?

class player, huge role in our upturn, is he really a DM as some alluded to? seems to me to be a very tactically versatile midfielder, to push him into a pure DM role would be wrong, could be a regista, box to box, attacking, centre mid

Don't understand why you aren't convinced when he has actually done it for 5 months in the PL. He was a big part of the significant improvement in the teams form that helped power us to the CL.

Bissouma and Skipp will have that covered now. I expect Bentancur and Hojbjerg to be ball winners and linking stuff up now.

I can’t really think of any stick to beat this guy with other than a below average performance against United. Other than that he’s been absolute class and I love a player like him that’s got a cigar in his mouth as he casually takes a player or 2 out of the game and releases the ball. It’s reminiscent of Dembele, who I absolutely loved as a player

Agreed. As new players into the league at half way through a season, to do what him and Deki did was quite brilliant. We would not have been 4th without their impact.

As a youth player this guy was supposed to be one of the next biggest things to come out of Uruguay. Very surprised we got him but Juve’s loss is our gain. Controls a game very well when he is on form which is often. Hopefully he can take this to newer heights and be more dominating next season.

I think he will thrive alongside PEH as he did last season. I also think Biss will thrive likewise besides PEH
And if Skipp is back to his best all three will thrive alongside Olly
For me, last season pre injury Skipp was our best mid

We might see 3 in CM for some games now, or as tactical changes now that we have the options we have.

Amazing start to what will hopefully be a long career at Tottenham. For me what will be the best thing for all our midfielders is the depth in quality we now have (a depth I haven't seen in 40 years of supporting Tottenham) is that we will rotate as and when, without a drop off quality and intensity which is what Conte's system requires. COYS.

You have to use 4 o's in the word "smooooth" to describe his style. Needs to eliminate giveaways in dangerous positions though I recall 2 at the transition from defensive to middle third yesterday thatvwere bad. Hope he comes good because he is another player who can be special
