Don't think Real would be interested in taking up their option at the moment,
if they do we should just turn to Gaya with the money we'd get.
He’s gonna come back strong next year. He just got tired and a bit mentally scrambled the last couple of months.

If we can find the right CBs I wouldn’t be against us playing WBs next season. With him, Sessegnon, Doherty, and Aurier being replaced, we’ve got three natural wingbacks.

There was a little patch last season where this kid was a breath of fresh air for me. Really enjoyed watching him play. He tailed off, but they almost all did, and he joined in a very weird season at a very weird time. I'm still firmly in the sign him if possible camp as worst case I think he would have decent resale value back in Spain with a few years Premiership experience on his CV if he doesn't quite make it with us.

Seems like a nice lad too.

We’ve already signed him to a 5 year deal last summer.

The Villa goal was the last straw that broke the camels back..
Spain are super well-stocked in that department too. Gaya is a seriously good player and Alba is, well, alba, and while he has had a mixed season his experience would play a part in his selection. Even on form most Spanish pundits see those two as no brainers so would have been hard.

On Reguillon he hit a bad patch of form at the end after an explosive start. He needs to be much calmer, everything he does is so frantic or, at times, forced. There were clearly issues with confidence at the end, bad form happens even to the best players, but at the same time he's clearly a class player and expect great things from him next season.

If there is one positive thing about his form tailing off is that it's guaranteed us at least another season of him.

With Bale back at RM, what will be the status with Reguilón?
Hopefully we do not lose him as well.
It seems like he will be staying with us, I like him and hopefully will not make as many mistakes as this last season.

They won't buy back a player in a position where they have a highly rated player in Ferland Mendy and Marcelo. From the looks of it, Madrid are gearing up to buy a big player next summer. Judging by how quiet they have been this summer.

Marcelo looked completely finished in the UCL games I saw him in last season though.

But I doubt they'll want to buy back - or can afford to buy back - as long as they have a good player there in Mendy.

Yeah I don't think Marcelo is the player he used to be but he will have another season as backup and the most senior player in the team now I think, considering Ramos has gone.

It was a really bad shot though - looked like the GK deliberately let that in!
Yeah - he's a pretty awful finisher which is presumably part of the reason he ended up as a fullback rather than a winger.

It's very frustrating as if he had end product he'd be an absolute monster. It felt like almost every game last season he would end up in the box at some point with a decent shooting opportunity, only to mess it up.

If he can improve his composure in the box he could easily be one of the best attacking full backs in the league.

I’m not convinced. He’s to erratic for me and a bit weak defensively. I think Sessegnon is all round more steady better defender and will overtake him.
