Admit that I was wrong? I said I believe he will come good. I'm not putting a time frame on that. You seem to think he's not doing anything else when he's not scoring when in fact he contributes a lot. I know he was bought for his goals but Kane seems to be doing well there so why get rid. He's actually one of our better passers of the ball and is an intelligent player.

What would you say if Kane came out and said he hope's Soldado isn't sold?

Wouldn't give a shit, he'd probably say the same about any of his teammates.

"I hope Soldado stays yeah, erm...just needs a bit of luck...erm, hope he stays. Dembele though, Dembele...he can be sold. I think...yeah, sell him."

And as Coyboy says, it's fine to be a poacher, but that means creating something in tight situations. Diego Costa is a poacher, but he manages to create himself space, not just stand there and wait for people to tee him up.

Diego Costa also battles away and puts in a real shift when his team doesn't have the ball...

Me too I am a big Soldado fan. He was not at his best against Swansea but compared to the way some others at Spurs have conducted themselves on and off the field, it is clear to me that Soldado should be give more games to prove himself. He is a very good player and I still believe in him.

And yet again, I come back to their hard work when we don't have the ball. Why do so many fans ignore this? As a striker it might not be going for you in a game, you might be struggling to get a kick. What you do in that situation is you put in a real shift for the team and give everything you have to hassle, press, close down and try and contribute something for the team. What we got Sunday was Soldado ambling around gormlessly. I don't think he broke into a jog. You talk about how others have conducted themselves, his performance, and so conduct, last game was as bad as anything served up by others in recent years. Pav, Defoe, Ade... I struggle to recall anything worse than that.

Or we could just keep up some of these myths about him...

So how about we get a replacement that also contributes a lot and scores goals as well.

And this is the major problem. You've wormed your way into a scenario where you can never be proved wrong.

Wormed my way in? Jeez whats wrong with you people.

There were erections everywhere after the City and Everton game but now look at you lot.

I hope and believe he will come good.

Well I think the club needs to or will do for everyone's sake. And if he hasn't come good after two full seasons as an experienced professional footballer, you won't admit you were wrong in believing he will come good? Seriously grow a pair mate.

I don't know where you got the idea that I don't think he is doing "anything else" but we've had this discussion before where I've asked you to give concrete examples of how he "contributes a lot" and you declined. But that's not the argument here, the point you made above about us having to put chances on a plate for him which is ridiculous for the reasons I stated and you failed to address.

We can't solely rely on Kane for obvious reasons and all or currently both our strikers need to contribute. If Kane says that, I will accept his point but with a pinch of salt given the obvious point that if he's asked "do you hope Soldado will be sold", he's not going to say "yes absolutely" just as he or any other player wouldn't for any other teammate so I fail to see the relevance of your question, it's quite bizarre.

Surely we do have to put a time-frame on it as a club though. A season and a half is a long time for a player not to perform, and there's only so long we can wait for him to come good.

Its amazing you know 100% what Poch's tactics were for the game. Its also amazing that you know everyones fitness levels.

You're a real credit to THFC.

Nah come on guys, Soldado put some pics of his baby in a Spurs kit on Instagram. That automatically buys him 20 years grace...

To be fair, most people were being rational and saying that it was a start, and that they hoped he would push on from there. He doesn't seem to do that.

Fans used to vilify Defoe for getting offside all the time, and saying that all he does is shift and shoot. I would take that right now to be honest from Soldado

No he hasn't. If Soldado leaves now, the summer or next January if his scoring rate doesn't improve he will absolutely have been proven wrong.

He was good against Everton and I said so. I didn't take that as proof he had now 'made it' or would come good, just gave credit where it was due. But Everton and Villa away last year have been the exceptions to a very clear rule.

No there weren't, there were realistic people saying he played well against Everton BUT was still an appalling bit of business all things considered.

So the feeble argument for picking Soldado over Ade a couple of months back was that Soldado made us look better, linked up play well and was just unlucky not to be scoring more.

What's the argument now that we've seen he does even less than Ade?

So the tactics were for Soldado to just piss around watching as the ball got passed around him, and then for Kane to chase past him and try and do something about winning it back?

Interesting.

Oh and so now its Soldado is unfit?
