Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel that if Ndombele was genuinely refusing to train properly, he wouldn't have even made our squads post-lockdown, and would've been training on his own.

dragon1 on COYS (about Ndombele) '
Player is overweight and refuses to train properly , Jose would love to sell and use the money

we payed 42 plus 10 in potential bonuses , there is no way he leaves for one cent under what we paid

daniel in two minds what to do, if a big bid of 45 plus comes in I think he goes '

Does dragon still have links to the club?

This should be fucking pinned to the top of the forum.

Why should it? It's clearly a case of 2+2=? We could all have crafted that little nugget based on what we've seen on the pitch and little snippets from Jose. If he "refused to train properly" he would get nowhere near the matchday squad. Dragon then proceeds to get the price we paid wrong, and then almost instantly had the last line about Levy being in two-minds contradicted by reliable Tottenham journos.

In short, the first line was hearsay that any of us could deduce. Second line was just demonstrably false. Third line contradicted by reliable sources.

Many wrote Bale off.
Many wrote Kane off.
I didn’t think Eriksen was good enough.
Most thought Rose was crap.
Loads wrote Lloris off last season.
Carrick ‘never did enough’ for so many.
Somehow there was always a chunk who couldn’t see what Modric brought to the team.
Berbatov ‘was lazy’
George Graham got rid of the mercurial Daveed, because he didn’t work hard enough. How many thought that was a good idea?

We should build the midfield around Ndombele. He was one of our few highlights at the beginning of the season. Give him a proper chance on the pitch - if he doesn’t take it then fine. But I don’t believe he’s had that this year.
Does @JimmyG2 know you’ve stolen his poetry?

And Mourinho would surely say something about this situation.

What if we sold Ndombele and bought Milinkovic-Savic? Jose is an admirer. It would entail Daniel getting full value for Ndombele and negotiating a reduced fee for Savic, but hey this is Daniel Levy.

If im Jose I'd probably take advantage of Levys desire to keep Ndombele by saying well look at the business I could do with that money but if you want me to make him work then meet me halfway on some of that business.

Ndombele could be a great talent. But what good is talent without application. Everyone talks about how he is so good on ball - but off the ball he has been a embarrassment. He will thrive in a team where he is given no defensive responsibility & other 10 works for him , with him having a free role. If such a team have him, he could show his full potential .

Even this rumour, I am guessing its more because he wants to move. We dont know the truth yet.
IMO, we cannot afford Ndombele to go thro another season like last. Its prudent to cut the losses now, and give a replacement who will give a certain success for Jose

finally, a logical response. Had tanguy been lamela or eriksen (when he was here) people would be " ill pay for his flight" all over the shop. fact is, he clearly has fitness, possibly attitude issues, if he can improve, then great! but can anyone say hes had a good season? a couple of good runs/passes don't make a good season to me!

Nobody wrote them off because of their physical fitness and ability to play 90 minutes or heaven forbid a run of games for 90 minutes. Absolutely nobody.

If all the normal journey the club leaks their new through are saying he isn't going anywhere then I suspect he isn't.

He didn’t make the last couple of squads though did he? He had an “injury.”

Your argument there seems to be that we, as fans, don't know what we're talking about and the managers and coaching staff know more than us, as all of those players were getting plenty of playing time.

After the restart, when games were coming around every 3 days, our manager chose to run the incredibly mediocre pairing of Winks-Sissoko into the ground instead of starting Ndombele. Mourinho, one of the most successful managers of all time, sees him in training and knows far more about him than we do, chose to give him a whopping two substitute appearances in the final 9 games.

I want Ndombele to succeed. I think his qualities on the ball are exactly what we need for a counter attacking Mourinho team to be lethal in transition from defence to attack. But if Mourinho would rather start Sissoko, a player who looks terrified of having the ball, ahead of Ndombele, you have to look at Ndombele's application in training.

Lo Celso started off as a bench player under Mourinho. A few weeks later, Lo Celso became an integral part of the team. What has Lo Celso shown that Ndombele hasn't?

There is a great quote from Alexander Mikhailovich Gorchakov who was a diplomat in tsarian Russia: 'I don't believe in news that has not been denied'.

All of the club's usual sources have denied that Inter info. I guess we're in for a long ride.

I mean if you choose to not believe that, up to you.

I think people are being a little naive if I’m honest with you. He played less than a half of football during the return from lockdown, after almost every game his entourage briefed the press that he was desperate to leave, and then he didn’t make the match day squad for the last couple of games.

It’s possible he was genuinely injured, yes, but there‘s plenty of evidence that he isn’t working hard enough and isn‘t impressing Mourinho.

It’s really no surprise that the club is briefing the press that we want to keep him and don’t intend on selling, does anyone honestly think we’d advertise the fact we want rid in this transfer market? Levy will want his money back, and the first step to that is acting like you’re happy to keep the player.

I think everyone is reading into his lack of minutes as a reason he is not fit enough however he wasn't selected because we went for defensive solidity first and foremost to ensure we got as many points on the board as possible in our pursuit of a Europa spot. That doesn't mean he isn't up to match fitness, it was a tactical decision by the manager.

JM himself alluded to this when he was asked what Ndombele has to do to get into the team.

'If' Levy and Mourinho don't want to move on from Ndombele then where/why such a story in the first place? To have Dan Kilpatrick and Alasdair Gold both get written pieces up before 10AM seems a little ott for me.

Fires being put out for what reason?

It’s obvious NDombele is going no where this summer. We don’t need repeated denials from the club to confirm that. No suitor is going give us what we paid for him for a start. And we’re not Chelsea who will write off a signing after a season and loan them out only to receive a reduced transfer fee at the end of it.
Also the guy is a mega talent. We beat a host of elite clubs to his signature. No way would we get rid after one season when it takes many foreign talents time to settle anyway.
