Siding with a player who wasn't even arsed to run/work for our previous manager and one who desperately wants out of our club is pretty laughable, honestly. I have no bitterness towards him, it just hasn't worked out, but deary me some of you need to get a grip. No player is bigger than the club, let alone someone like Tanguy.

This makes me curious about wages, not just his in particular.

If he is reportedly on £200,000 a week, is that base salary or is, say, half of that made up of performance bonus?

I can understand Levy wanting just money back (minus the money amortised for the last year or whatever you call it) but he’s going to have to realise he might have to take a hit somewhat if it means funds can be used elsewhere.

Id love him to stay but no way is this current manager going to turn him around.

Is anyone going to pay the needed funds to get him though? Doubt it.

I agree no player is bigger than the club. But we do have a special player here. The greats need to be managed differently. I dno if you've seen the zlatan or Anelka documentaries. They had massive egos from a young age. Managers needed to massage them to get the best out of them.
The comments on here that you'd prefer an average player running through a brick wall for you than a half arsed Tanguay.... no id prefer having a potentially world class player in the squad. We just need to figure out how to correctly manage him

Can not believe that out of us signing TN and the scum signing Penpe for £70m, it’s us that have ended up doing the worst bit of business

Zlatan loved working with Mourinho, and has a ton of respect for him. So Jose clearly managed that ego very well.

He’s not the only player on the planet who can play a forward pass. Yeah he looks silky on the ball, great at beating a man but there’s a lot of things he’s looked pretty awful at that are a prerequisite for being a top CM in the PL.
Suggesting he’s a great is so over the top on current showing. I don’t understand at all why he’s thought of so, so highly from his game time so far. You’d think he was Gazza or something. He might be a star elsewhere, but he wouldn’t be the first gifted player to have a bang average career cos lacks what is needed to be a top pro.

Such a huge shame.

Probably one of the most gifted midfielders I've seen in a spurs shirt in my 30 years as a fan. Gutted it hasn't worked out but clearly he needs to be moved on, and this window.

This clearly isn't Mourinho being stubborn as itks have also commented on his poor attitude and work rate in training.

A potential world class midfielder is one thing, but not giving 100% just won't cut it, this isn't a Berbatov kind of situation either where TN just has that running style which makes him appear lazy, it's clearly much more than that.

Hopefully try and get the money back and use that on another creative midfielder.

From the itks it sounds like we can do some clever deals to get in a rb and striker regardless if TN stays or leaves so I'd much rather any money made from him goes all on a similar player.

I can. It’s fucking typical!
Its almost like one manager came in and tried to get the best out of his player whilst the other threw him under the bus to cover for his shit tactics and then never gave him a chance.

I see its fashionable now to call him fat this and a useless so and so but the season before half of europe wanted him and anyone who had seen hk. Was desperately excited.

Don't get me wrong his been a flop so far but we either try and get the best out of him or write it him. The minute mourinho walked through the door there was only one likely outcome.

Your logic would make sense if Lo Celso didn't exist.

Surely a good manager is one who brings the best out of people, who manages people? Clearly destroying him in the press hasn’t worked for Ndombele? How can Mourinho's approach not be a factor or culpable in that?

People can say it’s not comparable to Salah and KDB and maybe it isn’t. But Ndombele was in the Champions League team of the season before we purchased him. He's an absolute elite level footballer, not some useless chump who might come good, he is good. Our manager needs to work night and day to understand why Ndombele doesn’t want to play for him.

Surely the player has to work night and day to be in the side and not be a lazy irk who at Tottenham has achieved nothing -

Ever since we signed him I can stop thinking about this post by Trix in the summer of 2018

Something must of changed as we bought him but we never should of.

What a complete clusterfuck of a signing he’s been. By all accounts he was the main man Poch wanted, Levy backed him with the cash and he turns out to be a lazy fuck. How was this not picked up in the scouting? How did anyone think he’d fit into a Poch system with no work rate? Poch has already gone, but heads should roll in the scouting department too.

How so?

One player caught his eye and the other didn't, doesnt make him a bad player just that he was never going to be a mouinho player.

Pogba was the same and yet he would walk into almost any side in the world.

Its done now. He squeezed a few results out at the end of the season and we have to back the manager so we may aswell move on from N'dombele but he didn't turn into a useless playwr over night. There will be a coach out there who will get the best out of him.
