They haven't faced him before so they will probably be shocked at how difficult it is to even kick him! I'm looking forward to a Tanguy masterclass tonight.
They'll be going after him alright. Think they've done their homework. I'm sure we have too, in order to protect him. Think this game will get very physical.

For me, not in the same way as a Bale or Ginola. In that as soon as they got the ball, they'd look to attack and take people on, literally every time they got the ball.
Son is a bloody exciting player but doesn't excite me quite to those same levels. It's a rare trait for me.
Agree with this. I adore Son and his goal contribution is out of this world, while his personality is infectious. I don’t see him as any less talented or effective than the other two, its hard to compare three different eras and obviously he’s in the best Spurs side while Ginola was in the worst, but he deserves to be held in the same esteem if not greater. However, as exhilarating as some of what he does is, monody induced the sound of tens of thousands of seats slapping their plastic backs quite like Ginola the moment he received the ball. Bale probably came closest, and for a period Lennon too.

That said, it might just be a symptom of our elevated expectation, the fact that we are more used to having stars, or maybe even the general cynicism that has crept into the game/ romanticism that has crept out of it. In 97 - 00 when we were watching donkeys like Sinton, Freund and Scales Son may well have also made a colosseum filled with grown men go weak at the knees with every caress of the ball.

I look forward to hearing the reception for Tanguy when fans return. They haven't had much to see from him so far. I hope we have a song for him when they return.

Are you submitting this poem in an online English lesson? If not, why not?
Thank you.
This poem was submitted as part of my application for the Poet Laureate
but was returned unopened.
I think they recognised the hand-writing
or it could have been the green ink.

Haha, I forget that it's a bit weird, because I'm so used to the picture.

It's 4x Hamlet Reserve cigars sellotaped together

When I was a party animal in my mid-20s we had one of many nights out in Camden, and I thought it would be hilarious if I made that monstrosity in the World's End and lit it up.

It was like the Flying Scotsman in there; these days I'd have to pay the low-emissions charge, just for having it in my pocket!

Er, anyway, I hope that explains things (y)

I wouldnt be caught carrying that around either these days if i were you as people would probably mistake it for an IED!!

If only Dembele ever scored, or assisted, or did anything apart from ponderously dribble the ball up to the opposition area before passing to someone. I've never seen a player slow up an attack as much. I'd take Ndombele over him every day of the week and I wanted him gone in the first year he was here. He shits all over Dembele.

Just want to add to this, people forget the Scott Parker moussa double team which never actually made a pass forward and bored supporters to tears.

It was ridiculously dull, dembele was great for the last 3 years of his spurs career but he was average before that. He was amazing at dominating midfields at the end and was incredible at keeping on to the ball, but he relied heavily on eriksen or our full backs to be the creative outlet.

Tanguy has the potential to absolutely dwarf him.

People are comparing 29 yo prime dembele to 24 yo inexperienced in the pl ndombele.

People are also comparing real Madrid's best midfielder who won the champions League 4 times.

His potential is not dembele or modric, it's zidane. If he keeps going on this trajectory we could be talking about the best player to grace the premier League.

He is that (potentially) good imo.

Feel sorry for him.

Completely wasted in these setups.

Enjoy him while we can I guess!

The minute we moved him up the pitch he disappeared. Wasted in that spot when he was excellent in the first half

We need him on the ball as much as possible, such a special player.

Every time I've watched Vinicius play he is making runs and the flag goes up for off side - I wonde if Ndombele might actually see and make those passes.

He needs to do more, does not dictate the game or demand the ball the way the top players do. He only provides moments which is not enough to win things

He was in the first half.

It's something I criticised him for after Leicester but since then he's starting to do it more and more.

He was definitely demanding the ball first half and at one point every player passed it back to him.

The issue is he doesn't have a partner who does the same. Whenever Winks plays with him, his performance dips. Because Winks doesn't look to take space for him or create an angle.

He has top player ability, but he doesn't have top player desire.

He was great in the first 45, but showed only flashes of that in the second. If only he could keep it up for a full 90.

I'll say it over and over and over again until it happens: we need more from him.

That said, showing desire when your teammates around you are playing appallingly must be hard. But that's what a top player does.

Probably our second hardest worker after PEH. Never stopped running just Liverpool we’re always moving the ball to quick for us.

What a load of rubbish. Reason he was less involved in the first half is because he went from playing as a central midfielder, where he was seeing loads of the ball, to being somewhere between left wing and up front, where by the time the ball was anywhere near him he had 3 players hounding him.

Pretty sure that is the same guy who said we should "sell this fatty". No point in trying here.

I'm pretty confident that he should simply be running football games against one of the best teams in europe with little to no help in the creativity department even if he is being overrun in a midfield with a numerical disadvantage.
