Pretty sure that is the same guy who said we should "sell this fatty". No point in trying here.

Strangest thing is it was said this month. I'd understand it more if it was said last summer or before.

Yeah, it was me who said we should dump the fatty and I stand by that.

Ndombele can be brilliant, but a player who has to go off every game is a liability for the team and the manager.

Anguissa is a much better option for me.

I said if Ndom doesn't improve his fitness we should sell the fatty, straight after he was subbed on 60 mins yet again.

Since then his fitness seems to have improved a lot and he has actually completed a full 90 minutes (!).

So the goalposts have somewhat changed and so has my view.

But last night he didn't show enough in the second half. Of course, he was hardly alone and in fact was probably our second-best player so I'm not criticising him a lot. But what I'm saying is fair.

I'm just not dazzled by MOTD clips as much as you, that's all. If he's in the centre (where he should be) he needs to work hard as well as show off his skills and if he's in an attacking position... well, I think we all agree it just doesn't work for him there.

This part contradicts your point about the 2nd half.

He's improved his fitness in the 2 weeks since you made the post. Really?

You're saying he needed to show more in the 2nd half and work hard and what not, how exactly is he meant to do that when his teammates can't get the ball to him because they can't string a pass from midfield without him? How is he meant to dictate the game when he's moved from the very part of the field that you agree he does dictating from. It's like he's expected to do everything that puts us on the front foot.

Because you accept that he needs to be in the middle, you accept that in the first half he played well when in the middle, but slag him off for being less involved second half even though he was moved away from the middle.

Just comes off as having an axe to grind in honesty,

Thought he's toughened up a bit of late. Took a few challenges last night and rode them out. Challenges that a few months back would've seen him splayed on the floor as if he'd been twatted with a baseball bat.

My point is his performances have improved and he's worked harder. So it certainly looks that way because when he was constantly being subbed at 60mins he looked knackered and faded in matches.

And no, of course, I don't have an axe to grind. I want him to succeed.

I just have high expectations of a player we sign for £55m. As you should.

Some of the other responses above are a bit weird - did you even take in the rest of what I said without being triggered by one line? Context is everything.

As I said, he was probably our second-best player last night. Don't get me started on Doherty.

In the 3 games we have played since you made the post?

Are you saying his performances haven't improved? I thought the general consensus has been that he's been pretty good the last few weeks.
I am not saying he hasn't improved. He has continuously improved throughout the season.

But he hasn't gone from "dump the fatty" to miraculously improved in the 3 game timeline you have provided.

What I said is that Anguissa would be better for us straight after Anguissa had completely outshone Ndomdele when we played Fulham.

Since then (maybe he read my post ;)) Ndombele has in my view gone up a gear both in fitness and performance and Jose seems to think so too as he's not being taken off.

I don't know whether I still think Anguissa would be better - maybe, maybe not. I just want more from Ndombele whereas so many here seem fixed in your views that he's just simply amazing. Well let's see it then.

The minute we moved him up the pitch he disappeared. Wasted in that spot when he was excellent in the first half

We couldn't get the ball to him.

He's brilliant on the ball which is why he needs to get on it more.

I'm his biggest fan but he frustrates me sometimes because he doesn't appear to want to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

I want him dominating games.

This is basically my point too.

Is everyone going to pile onto this guy as well???

Another strawman. Where have I said "he's simply amazing?"

I said he has improved continuously throughout the season.

I believe he is potentially a world class player but he needs to make a role his own. At the moment he is being moved around a bit. But he needs to command a position to a level where the manager plays him there every game.

Modric spent a bit of time on the left and in various midfield combinations. But in time he became our deep-lying playmaker and an ever present.

I am not sure exactly what role Ndombele will play. But he has the ability to be the first midfielder on the team sheet and who the others fit in around.

He dominates games when we play him deeper.

Maybe this is the problem.

'Now consider this from Ndombele’s perspective. Ideally you want him receiving the ball on the half-turn, attracting the opposition press but with enough space to manoeuvre and plenty of movement ahead of him. But Mourinho is famously resistant to “first-station” passes – short balls from defence into midfield – against good pressing teams. And so much of the possession Ndombele got here was poor possession: loose balls, 50-50 balls, facing his own goal in deep, useless positions. The point being that when he won the ball, Spurs were rarely in the sort of shape that would allow him to do anything with it.'

Strawman, my arse. At what point did I saw anything about you? Much less, where did I say you said he was "simply amazing"???

How have you read my post and come to that conclusion?

I said "so many people". At no point did I refer to you. Pay attention to the detail.

And the rest of what you say is just repeating what I've already said. Yes, we all agree he has the ability to be a world-class player. I said that too, I wasn't disputing that. There is your strawman.

"so many here seem fixed in your views that he's just simply amazing."

When replying to me you stated "your views."

It was a reasonable interpretation.
