we know and he was involved through what is written in the media. It’s pretty basic morality to be concerned a player who is going to represent the club you support is being investigated for his part in the accusation. Yes he might be found not to have committed any wrong doing but it’s pretty natural to have some concerns at this stage.

Yep I mean I made the bible passage post that I did a few pages back but that doesn't mean this situation isn't concerning at all but it's important to push past our own feelings and focus on facts because it's not fair to be condemed without proof. If there was tangible then i'd be deeply ashamed if any of our fanbase wanted us to ignore that and continue to play him.

I believe that the number of women who make up an accusation of sexual assault is in the vast minority. Statistically the number of genuine sexual assaults that lead to a successful prosecution are around 2.5%. Therefore if you are accused of sexual assault, if you are arrested and handcuffed, if you are bailed three times and still under investigation after 8 months, you are probably guilty but will still probably get off.

Not to mention that a huge number of sexual assaults are not reported for a variety of reasons. I'm not denying that false accusations do not occur and it's wrong. But it's rare. It's a very difficult decision for victims to come forward in many sexual assault cases.

Regardless, I have no idea about the specifics of Bissouma's situation, whether it's his uncle, or him or anything else. I trust Spurs have done their homework.

Who’s the ideal 2 man pairing now? Bentancur and Bissouma?
The great thing is that with those two plus Skipp and PEH we can play CL on Wednesday with two and PL on Saturday with another two with little difference in the quality. In previous years the same two MF would have to play both games. This will hopefully keep the players fresh and keep us competing on all fronts.

This is where I am.

The concern is valid, and I understand if anyone is concerned about this signing.

It’s not about “innocent until proven guilty” - that is an oft misused phrase that only applies in a court of law. Nobody would be happy if the club signed Greenwood, Sigurdsson, or Mendy - none of whom have been convicted.

But, I believe we have been targeting Bissouma since January and the club will have done their own investigation before investing £25+m. And that gives me some comfort that there is nothing in the accusations.

But, I understand if anyone still has those concerns, and would not belittle their concerns

It was said last week that it would heat up once the internationals were done this week. They weren't wrong!

I think it is fine to have concerns, I have concerns but I also trust we will have done the due diligence on this etc. Im also a big believer that whilst this is ongoing then its 'only' an alleged situation which is being investigated.

This isnt like Deshaun Watson in the NFL. Having said that, Man United suspended Greenwood over an 'alleged' incident although we all saw the photos online and recordings etc.

Sorry I digress.

Got a feeling we might change to a three man midfield here and there now. It is great because it gives us options and gives other teams problems in playing against us because they don't know how we are going to set up.

Yep, you have to trust that we've done our homework on the case and also the judgement of Brighton (and Potter) to play him every week.

Bissouma and Rice are the best midfielders outside of the big 6.

This reminds me of the Dembele signing when we took him from Fulham.
Seen this twice now, not sure of the relevance at all. Dembele was a young promising number 10 at Fulham and took a couple of years to adapt to cm and become the player he was.

Bissouma is a ready made (best in the league imo) cm who is an elite signing for us now.

Even in playing style they are not too similar, dembele was an absolute beast of a ball carrier. He would keep the ball and take it up the pitch. While bissouma has the ability to do this, he has pretty much everything else about his game as well (not saying bissouma is better).

I suppose the ability to dominate midfield as a general comparison.
