I was in a central London night club on Saturday night with a few friends and we were in the VIP section of the club. Lennon, Tommy H, Defoe and Corluka were all there, Lennon was smashed out of his face and had to be looked after by his mates, Defoe was sipping still water all night, Tommy h was on the booze but at a steady pace and Corluka looked well enough to be walking about and didn’t seem to be suffering from his Hami injury that he appeared to pick up a few hours earlier at the Bridge.
The reason for my post is that I was surprised that having lost such an important game and considering it was the most vital part of our season these 4 were out on the town. Maybe I’m wrong but I never seem to see Arsenal or Chelsea players in clubs getting hammered, it seems to more often be our lot.
With our season ticket renewals due this month it makes me wonder why I give a toss when certain players couldn’t give a hoot. Should our players be out at this stage of the season? Surely there is a ban on booze at the club, if there is then Lennon and Tommy H clearly don’t follow the rules set down by the club!

This is getting boring now, no offence.

Can we at least keep all the wrist slapping in the one thread, do we really need a new thread every time someone sees a Spurs player out on the lash.

What do you expect them to do? Lock themselves away, weep and wail, rub ashes in their hair (if they have any) and wear hair shirts? Are they going to show how they feel in public? Do you really think they aren't hurting?

As long as they can look forward to next season hungry for success, what they are doing is leading fairly normal lives for vastly overpaid young footballers and I don't see why we should expect anything else. Those with a family life will no doubt be at home with their wives and kids most of the time and they will certainly be considering and regretting how the season is ending.

I want them to be upbeat and confident for next season, not depressed and lacking in confidence It isn't ending as we hoped it would but it was our best season for a long time and we can look forward to a better one next season when the squad is tweaked with some much needed additions.

I would like to see them getting hammered anywhere, in clubs, out of clubs, round the bikeshed (though 'in clubs' not likely now as I'm an old man:cry:). I would even like to take part in the hammering:wink:

No! How about they shouldn't be drinking alcohol to the point of being carried out the club, considering we're at a critical part of our season!

Do you ever see Arsenal players being carried out of a club?

It's ok to drink a couple, but NO WAY should pro players be smashed during a football season....

They are human beigns not robots. Its not thier choice to be paid stupid amounts of money, its the clubs. If they want to go out and get smashed a week before the next game then so be it. Some of you are utterly pathetic (I wont name names).

If it gets the bitterness of disappointment out of their systems and provided they are fit for training and ready for the next game, it can surely be overlooked.

They are young men doing what young men do, no matter what their job or profession happens to be. I bet there are very few SCers who haven't either celebrated or drowned their sorrows and gone to work with a hangover and not performed their duties too well.

You have a bad day at work, you want to have a few drinks and perhaps pull a pretty girl, that is life. Chelsea players party as hard, if not harder.

If Lennon was paralytic then he is messing up his own career. I doubt he will get in the side next year as VDV will probably play inside right.
