Actually he was mostly on the bench before berbatov. I remember the shirt throwing incident.
He missed more one on ones then I care to remember and spent more time on his bum with his arms in the air than scoring goals.

2002-03 : 32 appearances, 13 goals.
2003-04 : 41 appearances, 16 goals.
2004-05 : 45 appearances, 17 goals.
2005-06 : 38 appearances, 16 goals.

That's 62 goals, before the Bulgarian signed. Hardly a bench warmer, and we were just starting to improve then. His best years were with Berbatov, I'll give you that but to call him over rated is a bit off the mark imo.

Fair enough.
Perhaps it's fairer to say he started to wane during the berbatov years and had gone over the hill by the time they separated.
