Football might as well stop for the time being, there's no point playing matches behind closed doors - it's pointless.

Well it does prevent a massive fixture pile up even if it lacks it's spark. I actually quite enjoyed watching PSG Dortmund as you could hear all the communication but yeah it doesn't beat the crowd atmosphere.

The PL should just consider this season null and void and we go again next season... last seasons placings remain the same which would mean we go into the CL next season and Man Shitty retain their PL champions status with Liverscum second

The games have got to be played though, you cant just shunt everything back for a few months, something will have to be cancelled to make space. The money is in tv deals more than gate receipts for the top flights and we must protect the precious money at all costs.

Plus I'm all for it being so quiet that i can hear N'Dombele wheezing his way around a pitch for an hour.

Bro we're in a middle of a pandemic, surely no-one cares about whether we finish the season or not. It doesn't make any sense to play matches behind closed doors seeing as fans are only going to travel to matches anyway (PSG fans turned up outside the stadium last night) and now we're at a stage now where players are testing positive for this shit. You have to look beyond football and just wait until we're over it.

Oh I totally agree with that. It needs to be cancelled was just stating the logic behind their thinking. As it's a multi million dollar industry they are going to want to do everything they can before having to cancel everything right?

Of course they don't HAVE to be played, but they can be played behind closed doors so they probably will. Unless the country goes into lockdown and gatherings of more than 50 people get banned then that's a whole next step that we aren't in yet.

If they cancel the season we'll spend the next 5 years locked in legal disputes from all and sundry, it'll be a nightmare.

Am I right in thinking that in China they postponed football in January? And it's still suspended now and probably will be for some time more. Which makes you realise that European football being suspended until April is probably nowhere near enough time.

Yeah true however since NBA have shut their entire league down and the US have less cases on average per person than the majority of other countries.

What happens when players catch it ( like they have already) and the other teammates in isolation.

It's just ona knife edge with the FA hoping it will all go away. The instant a 1st team player gets it, and it will happen, that will be it for the season

I dont know, i dont have the answers, people are throwing so many hypotheticals it's impossible to do anything other than guess. All things as they are right now then the next step is to play behind closed doors but that could change by the hour.

We aren't going to finish the season, there's no way. I wouldn't be surprised if literally all football was called off until August, and I think that would be a good decision.
It's starting to feel inevitable now.
I don't think the virus is even going to get the chance to kill me, if the league gets cancelled and Liverpool don't get the trophy it's very likely I'll laugh myself to death.

It's not hypothetical though, real madrid and Juve I think are all in lockdown for 2 weeks at least, that's if no one else is found to be positive.

We're not in Spain or Italy, we aren't locking down cities like they are (yet). And i repeat, like 99% of people i havent got a bloody clue.
