Klopp showing how it's done, their defence isn't great with injuries they have but instead of parking the bus they will just outscore everyone. Not having to defend all the time will mean players aren't completely exhausted in later half of the season too. Helps that he has best WBs in the world and front 3 that can make killer passes.

I think it's more of a case of how Liverpool are playing.
Palace were the better side that half. Absolutely pitiful in the last third though. Incapable of doing a 6yd pass. Ayew has been exceptionally wasteful.
This is what winners do, take their chances while others waste theirs.

The last minute win against us, will have given them such a boost. Unless they lose Mane, Salah and Firminho to long term injuries, and all at the same time. I can unfortunately see them winning the league again at a canter.

It’s our own fault, you can’t rely on other teams to do the work for you. We should’ve beaten Palace and Liverpool ( if we’d taken our chances ).

you have to go out and put teams away. too often we cant enjoy the last ten mins of a match as we are only a goal up. Liverpool smash teams out of it and its rarely in doubt. big dick energy.

like I said in the match thread at the time - i can take our tactics against the big sides. but against teams like Palace who, man for man, we are just better than, we should be doing more.

Liverpool showing how its done.

Still, a lot of points to play for. Palace wasted their own chances and have been dire at the back. Naturally Liverpool will steamroll any team who play like that.

Liverpool are clinical but this is 5 years coaching under Klopp, he's got them exactly where he wants them, very impressive. Jose has only been in for just over a year so we have levels to go but the god thing is we are well on course.

So frustrating how unlucky we were to play Palace when they were allowed fans. It really gives them that extra push and it's a horrible place to go. This wouldn't be 3-0 with them there. But credit to Liverpool, they are taking their chances. Still a long way to go in the league and we need a win tomorrow to show we are still in contention with competing.
This. Allowing or disallowing fans into the stadium should be practised consistently across the whole Premier League. How is fair some teams can have the crowd while some couldn't.

Yeah get the job done first half and then you can manage the second half.

We actually did the first part against WH but not the second half - although two of WH's goals were freakish.

I wonder if Jose wants to get another quicker defender before he takes more risks?! Sanchez was present for that WH game, Jose has taken him out since yet not allowed us to push up the pitch a bit more.

To be fair to Jose, his first Chelsea team, Inter team and Madrid team often had the game won by 60 minutes, so it'll be interesting to see if he's just waiting to get the pieces in place first.

At Chelsea second time, he started with this way of performances but then they started to have many games where they'd score plenty but also conceded a few, so he shored things up and they won many more games by a single goal and had more clean sheets.

And at United, the same thing happened. In his second season they flew out the traps, scoring plenty but then they came up against Liverpool and he played for a clean sheet - then got beat by Huddersfield the week after cause they couldn't regain attacking momentum.
From that moment on, United became a lot more defensive and by his third season the players didn't look as committed to the defensive side - although off-field issues played a part.

It's certainly about a balance and when you have the players you trust you can start to throw caution to the wind a bit more. For now, I don't think we necessarily need to see that from this team, as we need to wait for him to get the team he wants, so I'm not worried. But if by next season we are still giving weaker teams more control in games and seeing draws, I will worry that he may not be able to overcome a team like Liverpool.
