This is the table since matchweek 8 (mid october)

Means they won more points (14) from the first 8 games than they have in the subsequent 21.

That's 11 points from a possible 63.

Currently on 3 points from the last possible 24.

I have no great desire to see Everton go down but I have to say it serves them right if they do. If they are not pulling up any trees but comfortable away from the relegation trouble under a manager with the experience of Rafa Benitez and then they sack him after six months because they thought they were better than they were they don't deserve anyone's sympathy. To then compound it by replacing him with Frank Lampard, inexperienced failure in the championship and with only six months in the premier league just long enough to make a side like chelsea look bang average then they deserve everything they get.
And they have been throwing money away like toiletpaper... I hope it gets punished with Championship football.

Okay I’ve looked at the fixture list.

Everton have United, Leicester, Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester, in that order.

They’re fucked.

Totally agree. I see somewhere between 1-6 points as a maximum from their remaining fixtures. The away game to Watford and home to Brentford are huge huge games!

Only thing that will stop Everton going down is if Burnley don’t pick up points now. You would think the result tonight would give them a lift but they have been awful this season. Still pisses me off we lost to them.
wouldn't totally rule out Watford yet

I don't particularly want Everton to go down but Lampard does make it hard to root for them to stay up
I really don’t understand what Lampard has done to earn the opportunity he has there. If they have any sense at all they will be asking Uncle Harry to come in and support him for the rest of the season

They'll probably let him go for free in the summer - making it a free signing from us

Yeah and I don't think we care. We wanted him off the wage bill and at the end of the day nobody wanted him, or at least to pay us anything for him. We should have sold him years ago when he still had some hype and value. I think we would have done if we had FP back then but we had Levy calling the shots on deals and I have no doubt Levy wanted to keep Dele as he believed he would rediscover his form and become an expensive footballer again, when somebody with some football IQ would have known that wasn't happening.

Totally agree, hodgson is probably looking at their run in and thinking as long as we take three points off them the goal difference will sort itself out in Watford’s favour. I think the battle for the final relegation slot will be between Burnley and Watford, and Watford have got to play both of them.
Everton are gone after tonight and as mentioned in an above post they’ll end up doing a Sunderland, if they’re lucky, because their financial situation is ten times worse than when Sunderland got relegated.
The amount of money they have spent in recent seasons is just complete mismanagement, big club in name but so were Newcastle when they went down.
I don’t see Everton coming back though.

So what you're saying is, you think you have a higher footballing IQ than Mourinho and Pochettino? :cautious:

When we sold him to Everton, I read somewhere (can’t remember where though), that they would have to pay us £0.5m for each game that he plays for them for the first 40 games. Two payments of £10m each to be paid to us after the first 20 matches and second 20 matches. Plus there’s an additional payment of another £20m to be paid to us , based on various clauses (one of which was if they avoided relegation).

If the report is true, then we are still owed some £££ for the matches that he has already featured for them, even if he is sold this summer.

I doubt Levy would have let him leave without any fee.

I keep hearing people connected to Everton talk up the youngster Anthony Gordon, but I don’t see anything special. He’s a diving little shit who runs a lot but just ends up on the floor. Sometimes he gets the decision as he did a few times tonight (inc the first penalty) but if that’s your best player then you’re in massive trouble.

Wouldn't surprise me if he gets sacked soon. In pure desperation from Everton.

Absolutely nothing. Baffling decision to hire him. I can’t understand what the owners thought. “Yeah he was pretty shit with a billion pound Chelsea team, so he’ll probably be just fine with our massively worse players.”
