We've had a rocky start to the season with injuries, still playing at Wembley and post-WC fatigue and despite that we're in third place just six points from Liverpool. As long as we're only six points from first spot anything can happen.

When our best players are clicking and in-form we can beat any team. That is fact, and it finally feels like our key players hitting their stride. I'm actually fairly optimistic.

The difference between us & liverpool as it stands is the Wembley 6 pointer loss. And City beat us too...
If we have any thoughts on winning the PL this season, Liverpool away & City home - we got to beat them. If we dont, I dont give any chnace regardless of how well we do against other teams.

We already played City at home (and lost).

If the league starts falling into place for us I think I might have a heart attack from anxiety. COYS

I’m gone already but have devised a less stressful way to watch away games. Pause the TV so I’m 15 minutes behind. Simultaneously put “spurs goal” in Twitter search. If the feed suddenly has loads of updates I know we’ve scored, if it has a few updates opponents have scored. It’s great when then click refresh and it says “ GOAL KANE “. And I can just chill watch TV and know a goal is coming in 10 minutes ?

Next 6 out of 9 at home and very decent set of fixtures. We had a similar run a year or so back - did well against big teams and floundered when we had relatively 'easy' fixtures.

There is no easy fixture but we have to make the most of next 9 games.

Position we would be in with 42 points at Christmas in previous years:

2010 - Top - 8 points clear.
2011 - Joint second - 2 points behind City
2012 - Second - 1 point behind Manure
2013 - Top - 6 points clear.
2014 - Joint Top with Chelsea
2015 - Top - 4 points clear.
2016 - Second to Chelsea - 1 point behind.
2017 - Joint Second - 13 points behind!
2018 - Third - 6 points behind Liverpool.

Pretty remarkable points return really.

Losing at home to Pool & City really hurts now. At time we weren’t playing great and I think most would have settled for 4th, now we see what difference a couple of draws would have made.

It is such a pain in the arse we will lose Son in Jan for the Asian tournament. It's a joke that he's played WC, that other Asian tournament in September, and now this one. He's bang in form and losing him will be a real blow. Lucky we have Kane, Dele, Eriksen, Moura and Lamela.

I feel we either need a cm reinforcement or a dembele in beast mode. Moussa has been struggling but i believe he has it in him for 1 last big push for us. Im a big fan of or recent more attacking lineups(we have been forced into it) and think moussa could do great at shielding the cb's.
As for the xmas fixtures we need to close the gap now whilst others have tougher games.

Pool 2 v newcastle 0
Pool 2 v arse 2
City 3 v pool 1

Leicester 1 v city 3
Southampton 1 v city 1
City 3 v pool 1

We win our 3 hopefully.

Would leave...

Pool 52
City 51
Spurs 51.

Just as a side note....i am very interested to see how pool cope with rotation over this period. For me they are similar to us a couple seasons back whereby when they have their best 11 they are great but once they change 2 or 3 they visibly struggle. Could be a possibility that if they rest against newcastle or arse in preparation for city they could drop more points ( a defeat possibly to arse or draw v newcastle).

Most of these title races come down to how you get on v your closest challengers

So far we've lost at home to both City & Liverpool. Where we finish will probably come down to how we get on at Anfield and The Etihad

The season Leicester won the title they beat us at WHL. At the time we thought "oh well Leicester cant win the league so it's not that bad" Little did we know how vital not losing that game was

I think the important thing is not to lose. Would take draws at those two grounds in a heartbeat. Boring draw over exciting game where we lose 2-3.

I know it doesn't always suit our game to sit back but if we play a bit tighter then we have great counter attacking players.

I might be in the minority but I really don't want Pool to win the league if we can't and would rather City do, even with their oil money. Whilst there is a lot to admire about how Klopp has them playing and the club has backed him transfers wise, their fans don't deserve it. They are the most deluded bunch I've ever come across. They think they've a divine right to win and are the biggest club in the world. Utd fans are showing similar traits in stating how Poch can't turn them down. Also, Klopp can sometimes act like a buffoon: see celebrations against us at Anfield last year when they went 2-1 up or against Everton.

To that end, I hope Brighton beat Arse who then snatch a draw at Pool who lose to City who in turn lose to Leicester!! We then win our next few to bunch up the top 3 all whilst having a healthy gap to 4th. Simples!!
I'd much rather Liverpool win than city. Fuck City and Chelsea with their dirty money. Liverpool, for all their deluded fans, haven't got blood on their hands.

No. They'd be like the fish at my local chip shop. Battered.

If we played Liverpool right now they would be like my local fish shop. Greasy and recently claimed to have been robbed despite nothing of the kind happening so they are yelling at everyone that they are the victims whereas no one else sympathises with them and wants them to go out of business.

I hate my local chippie.
