Please rate Mike Dean's refereeing performance against Chelsea using the poll above.

I am submitting a poll after each of our domestic league/cup matches and keeping track of the results, so we can keep track of referees that ref well for us  / just do a good job.

0/10 option is not going to be added as if we were to change the rating system previous results would be invalid!

Also, here's an interesting link for referee stats: (Credit to EmperorKabir for the link)

Frustrating. 3 or 4 fouls on Bale we didn't get free-kicks for, one of note being the Essien lunge.

4- Didn't take control of the persistant fouls by chelsea, missed the handball which I thought was obvious before the replays.

1. Useless fucking ****. Worst refereeing display of the season. Never seen a referee so determined to give a penalty!

I agree with Winchy, he must have something against Bale or Welshmen in general, no protection at all, and as for the penalty my first reaction was "cheat" he was almost pointing for it before any contact.

He should have punished Chelsea's persistent fouling with cards.

weak referee, failed to protect our players and Chelskis persistent fouls went unpunished.
He let Essien get away with 2 very bad fouls on Bale.
This referee is past it, he always favours the sky 4 and should be retired in favour of new blood. (as some of his colleagues also)

Given the ref a 4.

It wasn't the best reffing performance by any stretch of the imagination.

The pen was stonewall, Gomes was so late and clattered him.

I just thought was quick to award them fouls, and was very harsh on us.

Is Bale geting a reputation for going down easy? Seemed to me that he was taken out a fair bit and got nothing!
Especially to Essien foul...that was a shocker (he defo didn't go down easy on that)...no foul for it.....shocking!!!

Bale is going down easy though. And seemingly over dramatising his pain.

Think he's getting a bit more stick than deserved here. Not a great performance, but no major errors, and got very little help from his assistants.

Didn't seem in control - never took action when required. Let the Chelsea players crowd him on any decision - let ashley cole swear at him at every occasion.

4/10

Gave him a 5. Can't argue with the pen, and the handball by Drogba wasn't as obvious as some ppl have made out so not got too many gripes with that either. For me it was his decisions in the middle of the park - he didn't give us much and on the few occasions he did give us a free kick it was when he shouldn't have done!

It felt throughout the game that if either side (Essien and Cole apart) had wanted to make it nasty he would have had no control whatsoever - and his inability to spot blatant bookable fouls in the middle played a big part in giving Chelsea the initiative in the 2nd half.

He seemed intent on levelling things up and that goes for both teams, he didn't book Essien for the Bale foul when he should've done and realised he'd got that wrong so he let a few of decisions go our way, then booked Benny (rightly so) then realised he needed to book Essien so the next time he commits a minor offence he books him and it was that way the whole game, Terry and Cole were in his ear the whole game yet he let it go.

Any chance of Collina giving some of these refs a slapping and soon!?

Studs up challenge, a foot off the ground from essien, You want to ask Mick McCarthy what his players would have got for that? Bale was targeted again

But it was a penalty, although given his decision making, i was not sure if Mike Dean was going to spot the ball and take the penalty himself. There was clearly no home advantage despite our fantastic fans. Maybe Abramovich got a free referee in a BOGOF with the world Cup?
