I don't have the energy at the moment to do my ratings but here's a thread. MOTM was Tanganga. That was probably the second best match I've ever gone to, only behind when we beat Real Madrid. Atmosphere was fucking unbelievable, and was so satisfying to give a big 'fuck you' to City.

Honestly so hard to decide between Lucas and Tanganga. Japhet almost single handedly dragged us into the game after the first 20 mins, purely by being a defensive beast and stirring the crowd up which fed into the players. Yet, there was Lucas in the last minutes of the game still running with the ball, drawing fouls and putting challenges in.

Lucas and Tanganga were both exceptional. I thought overall we were great after the first 20. Dier and Dave were both solid too.

All 10

Lucas and Tanganga both deserve MOTM. Fantastic performances from both. Everyone did very well. Dele was surprisingly good, I was worried about him moving deeper but he did a fantastic job.

Tanganga was great but Moura edges it for me. Took the pressure off our defence and opened City up time and again.

Amazing what a performance does for optimism.

Lucas MOTM for me. Close call between him and Tangy.

Dav & Dier were also rock solid.

I do wonder if that changes a few of the transfer plans now. The committee will be busy.

Will we be so eager to sell Davinson off the back of that performance? One swallow doesn’t make a summer, but he looked sharp. Maybe one who comes good?

Tangy also supersedes both Aurier and Doherty now. So one of the latter to go.

Tanganga for me but agree that Lucas was equally as good his back flick that started goal attack was superb.

Tanganga because he set the tone. The boy is just so aggressive in his defending. Reminds me a bit of Ashley Cole in that regard. Immense performance. In the end, Grealish and Sterling just gave up trying to beat him one on one.

That game was everything that has been missing for the last 2 years. Passion, fight, organisation, purpose. The Boys just fought for everything and played with real quality at times.

We were the better team from about 20 minutes onwards and at no point were we hanging on. We looked comfortable for long periods.

Fantastic result.

All were excellent, but Tanganga and Moura were the standouts. Closely followed by Sanchez and Skipp. Thought Son actually had a sub-par first half. Most encouraging thing was how organised and fit we looked, and the team spirit. I had serious concerns about our 4-3-3 against City, and suspected it would mainly be a 4-5-1. But we stayed as a 4-3-4 with Bergwijn and Moura high until the closing stages. Great start from Nuno and really glad he is our manager!

I've gone with Sanchez, although Tanganga was brilliant, there was just a couple of moments from Sanchez near the end where my anxiety was going crazy and yet here's Sanchez in the 86-94 minute range just taking on responsibility and getting us the ball and dragging us forward with his decisions that led to us retaining the ball. Superb.

Went Tanganga, but Lucas was excellent too. Pressing from Dele exceptional, and all over.

Sanchez was a colossus. Not a foot wrong and don’t think he missed a challenge(?)

Hell, they were all brilliant.

Tanganga or Lucas. Such different performances but both put in the proverbial 110%. If Japhet suddenly turns into the worst player on earth, he'll always have today's performance which was near legendary for a defender. Overjoyed for him. We simply can't sell Sanchez after that. He was a colossus at the back. Apart from the unbelievable work rate we saw from everyone (something sorely lacking under Jose), I also saw very few mistakes - we were tidy.

But. But. But. The biggest thing was that we looked organised. Jose's ramshackle Spurs are gone. At last.

It’s been so long since I’ve seen this team with so much energy and snapping into tackles and it was a breath of fresh air! Tanganga and Moura probably equal MOTM for me.

Best game and atmosphere at the new WHL, absolutely phenomenal today, everyone!

Nuno got it spot on,10’s from back to front, special shout outs to Tanganga,Skipp and Lucas who I thought were outstanding.

“ARE YOU WATCHING HARRY KANE!” Song at the end topped off a perfect start to the season.

My ears are still ringing on the way home, absolutely epic!

COYS ?

I fucking love Lucas, but has to be Taganga. They had to double team him offensively to get a slither of joy out of him
