Pep's plan was obviously to target Taganga with Grealish and sterling, as he's the greenhorn, and he fucked them both up. Love to see it.

Lucas or Tanganga, but I think the much maligned Davinson and Dier deserve praise too, and it was great seeing that kind of a performance from Dele as well - reflective of how much Nuno has done in a short time.

Tanganga, closely followed by Lucas, closely followed by everybody else. That was the best team performance I’ve seen by Spurs for a long time. That wasn’t backs to the wall defending; it was a well drilled plan perfectly executed.

Special mention for Dele today. I thought he was excellent. Was a tactically astute and disciplined performance. Worked really hard, used the ball well, moved it quickly, won duels, loads of energy and athleticism.

Sorry guys easily Lucas on this day, if he played like this 75% of the season we would be onto something. We need to be faster on the attack one touch football is what Nuno needs, Son, Dele, Bergwin all need to be faster on the break when it comes to passing.

Every player was absolutely superb. Not one player didnt put in a big shift and great performance.

Not sure how we feel but think Tomiyasu deal may b put on hold with Tanganga. Absolute beast.

Thought he was ordinary first half but was excellent in the second half. Worked his bollox off and was good in possession. If he continues to apply himself like that, he'll be back to be his best. Helps having a manager who doesn't act the **** with you too I'd imagine.

Lloris - 7 - Not too much to do actually
Tanganga - 9 - They attacked at him basically the whole game with the 100m man and created ~nothing. MOTM.
Dier - 8.5 - No mistakes. Jose would be proud...
Sanchez - 9 - Best I've seen him play honestly
Reguilon - 7.5 - Good performance. Not as much to do defensively, but got forward and was a menace.
PEH - 8 - Quintessential PEH performance
Skipp - 8 - About as good as PEH, which says an awful lot
Dele - 8 - New role, new Dele. Don't expect him to score 15, but he is a fantastic two way player.
Bergwijn - 7.5 - Basically what we've seen from him. Dangerous, but pretty wasteful.
Son - 8 - Wasteful in the first half. Gets a bonus point for winning the game though.
Moura - 9 - Probably the best I've seen from him too. Ridiculously dangerous both in pressing and dribbling/carrying the ball forward.

GLC - 7 - Belongs in the starting XI in most games. Think he will have a huge season.
Doherty - NET
Romero - NET

Nuno - 9 - You can't argue that he didn't have a game plan and that it didn't work.

I think we were lucky to not concede in the 1st 15 mins. Thereafter we defended solidly and I couldn't remember them creating a single clear-cut chance. We deserved to win. However it was also noticable that the moment KDB came on their threat increased.

Overall it was a combination of a good shift on our part, abit of luck and MC being under-strength that allowed us to win.

Individuals:

1) Tanganga had a great game showing his physical qualities. I think he was only beaten once by Sterling in the entire game; but even then he recovered fast enough and with the help of someone else, only conceded a corner. I hope he stays fit because otherwise RB is our weak spot and he might have just covered it. I also like his confidence in driving the ball up from the RB position; its dangerous, but it's also rousing for everyone. Today it was the right thing to do.

2) Lucas Moura always turns up in big games and today is no excepiton. Carried the ball well, drawing fouls, let us played on the front foot and good tracking back. Can't fault the effort.

3) Bergwin found pockets of space to exploit but his final ball wasn't good enough. The chance he got on his left foot was difficult but that's the difference between a top-4 and mid-table AM.

4) Sanchez and Dier both had good games; Ferran Torres hardly got a sniff.

5) Dele was lively and didn't lose the ball much by his standards. Defensive awarness/tracking back seems to have improved as he kept us in shape.

When you consider that Japhet was up against not only Sterling but also Grealish for large spells of the game I think he has to get MoTM as he kept both relatively quiet.
Sanchez was immense.
Dier had some great defensive contributions.
Reggie was regularly nicking the ball from Mahrez' toes.
The midfield all worked their socks off and showed some quality.
Same with the front three.
Subs all contributed too. (Well Romero only to the atmosphere)

He was just doing his bit in the first half but stood out more in the second.

My feelings on Jose are well known, I didnt want him near our club and I was right. Awful, awful, awful manager who sucked out almost every bit of love I have for spurs. If he had remained as manager this season I would not have watched a single game until he was gone.

The performance today shows just how bad he was for our club.

I thought that to a man we were magnificent today. Commitment, desire, hunger, bravery, discipline was all there in spades. Apart from one nervy moment near the beginning when Hugo flapped a bit we were faultless all over the pitch and Hugo had very little to do.

Tanganga was a wall that neither Grealish nor Sterling could get past. My MotM. Everyone else gets a 9.5.

Fans were amazing. You could feel the atmosphere through the TV. Keep that vibe going please!

"Are you watching Harry Kane?" Loved it.

Love it when Lucas is in this kind of mood. Just wish he could do it more consistently! Hopefully he can from here.

Was willing to give Jose a chance but, ultimately, your fears were well founded. He was a cancer on our club. I turned big time on him after the Liverpool home game last season. That was enough for me.

I felt proud of our performance today. I haven't felt proud of a Spurs performance since Poch. I'm not normally emotional, until it comes to football, but I almost teared up by the end.

Lloris - 7 - clean sheet but one big error could have led to gift Fernandinho a goal

Tanganga - 9 - oh boy how came he out of that without a booking? MOTM performance
Sanchez - 9 - was absolute class and helping out Tanganga when needed
Dier - 8 - keep that going Eric
Reguilon - 7.5 - decent

Skipp - 8 - need to grow into it and did. How refreshing was his aggressivness compared to the lazy passiv shit Sissoko and Winks offered us for years
Hojbjerg - 9 - what a warrior, good energy. Hope he is fine
Dele - 7.5 - was alright, good effort.

Lucas - 9 - unplayable the last weeks, hope he can produce that consistently. Will have a huge part this season I feel
Bergwijn - 7 - good effort but thought this is the one position we need an upgrade the most. Needs to make it two and is just not clinical enough in the final third.
Son - 8 - winning goal, even whem he did not get anything right today. Take that though.

Nuno - 10 - got it all right today. Think he did well that he used pre season to build some chemistry and played his faves over and over again. We looked a team out there i havent seen for ages.

Subs - 7s all around

Just need to solve the Kane saga now properly as we still look a bit weak in depth. We have bodies but not a lot in the quality that is needed. We need two clever strikers who can link up with son and Lucas and have this goal scoring touch.
Preferably a replacement for Serge and Tanguy too.
