Gio was obviously MOTM but I gave to Sanchez as he played well, is a long term servant of the club and some of the people on here need to take a step back and look at themselves

he deserves support or else we will just have another depreciating asset

Daniel, is that you?? ?

I absolutely agree that every player needs our support while they play for us, but what do you feel has been said to warrant people “looking at themselves”?
Because they’ve written him off already, without considering that it may be a drop in form?

He’s a young CH, it happens to all of them.

Gio clear in my option. Begwijn again a waste of space, can’ t tackle, no passion,
not creative and is not a goal scorer
Blimey, he's only young and is just back to fitness.
Not only that but he's looked pretty good in his last few games.
What with this post and the one the other day, where you proclaimed him to be "the worst buy ever", I'm beginning to think he might have shagged your mum or something! ??

So if Gio is the obvious MOTM, then give it to him. Its not like Sanchez is reading this thread and your picking him will console him or something ?

GLC by a long way,

what I was most impressed with was his fitness level, he really seems to be up to speed now after his run of injuries, he just never gives up

We won, but that first half performance was bereft of creative play.

People critical bale or Vinicius i don't understand, they were feeding off scraps. Bale got the ball a few times and tried to play one two's but the ball never got back to him.

Winks was very poor imo and lacked experience, the midfielder we needed in that situation was one touch and switching the play he just played it safe which made their press so easy. It didn't help that neither of our CB's could switch the play either. Slow in possession, which meant the only out ball was big hoofs from Hart.

So many issues, reguillon didn't affect the game at all. The only time I remember us actually getting the ball to our attacking quartet (GK long balls aside) was when Tanganga won a tackle which went straight to lo celso.

Doherty was completely overwhelmed on that right hand side, but he never received the ball quickly enough.

There should be stats of how many times our creative defensive midfielder (winks) or our defence for that matter found any of reguillon, bale, lo celso, Vinicius or Lucas.

Which is ridiculous. We are in desperate need of a midfielder who can play long passes (vertical or switching play).

I always think that at times we should sacrifice one of the front three and get another midfielder on.

Anyway enough rambling, game changed when we brought on the big guns. GLC mom but it's clear winks (sadly) doesn't have a place in our team anymore. We need a defensive playmaker who has a range of passing.

I must have watched a different match to a lot. For a second string side (mostly) I thought spurs played really well. Lots of attacking movement and well, look at the basic match stats.

Defense was fine, never really tested but some great tackles. Was a good performance.

I think the issue is that some of the great tackles come from situations of his own making where he shouldn’t have ever had to make a great tackle in the first place.

Otheraise known as 'Kyle Walker Syndrome'.

I thought Tanganga was very good. I’d be interested to see him at RB in the first XI as he again showed he is adept at accelerating past opponents with the ball, whilst being solid defensively. He might be a better RB than Doherty (who looked slow and ponderous again last night) in Jose’s system.

One thing about last night was how much better we were after the initial triple substitution. We were more aggressive, quicker and played with more intensity. I did feel sorry for Vinicius as he needs goals and had just scored.

Hart - 6 - nothing to do at all.
Doherty - 6
Sanchez - 7
Tanganga - 8
Davies - 6
Reguilon - 7
Winks - 6
Lo Celso - 9
Moura - 7
Bale - 7
Vinicius - 7

Kane - 8
Bergwijn - 8
Son - 8
Ndombele - 6 - two very sloppy moments
Sissoko - 7

I thought he was much calmer last night which is what I have wanted to see from him so fair play. He does still rush out of the back line to get involved and try and win the ball leaving a gap in behind him when it doesn't come off though when he would be much better off holding the line. This is something that Dier and Alderweireld do very well judging when to go and realising when its too far out of shape to go even if they could possibly win it.

True, although Toby and Dier always have PEH in front of them keeping things organized.
