There is nothing wrong in winning ugly, 3 points are three points. First time Brighton has lost at home in seven months. I vote for team effort in respect and tribute to Gian Ventrone.

Sess all day long. PEH was also immense. Back 3 as a unit could be MotM most weeks this season.

Weird seeing Bentancur getting so many votes. I thought it was one of his poorer games for us.

Good to hear Sess did well. Was it for attacking or his all round performance?

So much more composure with Doherty at rb, in both defence and attack. Sess my motm. Hopefully the pair of them get a run in the team.

Thought he was better first half but the switch with PEH to the left side of the three second didn't really come off. Not sure what Conte's thinking was with that move.

He had good and bad moments in both.
Caught offside a few time, but gave us plenty of energy down the left.

Voted team effort. I don't think anyone stood out above anyone else.

For me all round. Could have had an assist and a goal but for fine margins. Defended March very well I thought.

Hojberg was the most effective today I would say. Splitting hairs between him and Bents though.

Sessegnon, Bentancur, PEH, any one of them really but respect to the team, coaching staff, fans and everyone involved really. A very tough, emotionally draining week and they turned up for Gian Piero.

I thought Bentancur was great, actually does the hard stuff in midfield, lost the ball a couple of times in the second but he doesn’t cop out in possession and was very good off the ball too. PEH like the last couple of weeks good last half hour.

Sess not looking like a kid anymore, starting to look more powerful and confident down that side, very good game. Though Kane and Romero were good as well

Bentancur and Hojbjerg fantastic yet again.

Don't think anyone was particularly bad over the 90. Fantastic away performance against a team who will likely finish top 8 this season.

I went for team effort. Felt like there were about 3 or 4 potential players who stood out, but every single player contributed today.

Defence did their job, Son and Kane combined for a goal, wing backs had important moments and the CMs did very well. Bissouma had a rocky start but even he grew into it.

Sess deserved it. His defending is great on the whole and he's gaining in confidence.

I only managed to watch the second half so all my observations are based on that.

I felt Brighton consistently attacked our left side, so it's likely that they feel Sess is our weakest link. Sess did well for the most part.
Brighton also had more of the ball and was taking the initiative, but created little clear cut chances (i think there was only 1).
We were happy to play on the back-foot and just counter. Whille this was passive, I felt it was the right tactical thing to do because we created better chances (Kane should at least have hit the target when he was clear on goal on the right).

Individuals:

Romero: He can be overly-tenacious at times, for example needlessly giving away a freekick by fouling Mitoma towards the end. However the tendency tends to work in his favour, so long may it continue. Also he is good and calm on the ball.

Doherty: great block towards the end

PEH: good press and generally makes the correct decisions consistently in all situations. Reads the game well.

Kane: good first touch but I felt he played too deep.

Son: always looked threatening when he gets on the ball but does give it away cheaply at times and doesn't always make the right choice. That's ok because he can really finish, as shown by his disallowed goal.

Sess for me. His best all round game for us so far. Looked composed and confident -good signs. Fingers crossed he’s injury free for a long long time
