Emerson for me but a close call with Romero and Skipp not far behind.
Lots of posters in match day thread complaining about playing with 7 defenders are missing the point - Emerson’s goal is exactly how the system Conte wants is supposed to work. Especially when we have the ball the WBs are attacking players.

Emerson for me. It's that 3 of the last 5 matches? But good to see the "finished" Son get a goal too.

Strange game. First half was like watching Conte in charge. Second half we played football. We actually looked to try and progress the ball and not just kick it to Kane.

West Ham were poor. This is probably the least passionate West Ham team we have faced in ages. First half we should have taken them on more.

But it is 7 defenders. The output of those players in attack (and defence) is not good enough. It's a difficult style of football that requires insanely specific players. It's been so bad and there is no plan B or adjustments to make it work. Today doesn't prove it's working against a really crap west ham team.

Happy with the win. Delighted for Royal and Skipp in particular, and they never threatened us.

Worth considering…
- West Ham are total fucking shit, and while I find that amusing, it’s important context
- I expect more output from our front three. I still don’t feel they’re near what they could be. Not sure if that’s an issue with them, the system or their form
- I do find it odd that two of our best performances have been without Conte in the stands. Not sure if there’s anything to read into that or if it’s just coincidence

Forster - 7 - Had one save to make; made it. Safe with his feet, and good positioning.
Emerson - 8.5 - Very cool finish. Finding a really good role tucked in and silencing the boo boys.
Romero - 7 - Kicked everyone, including Emerson and Richy. Some incisive passing too.
Dier - 7 - This is all we want. Mopped up well, good in the air, passing into midfield.
Lenglet - 6 - Solid enough, still hoping for a little more on the football front.
Davies - 8 - Could keep the LWB position, which would be handy. Great assist.
PEH - 7.5 - Some through ball for Davies! Good at the day job too.
Skipp - 8 - Bested England's Rice. Keep that up and Southgate will notice.
Kulu - 6.5 - Got better as the game went on. Not back up to speed yet.
Kane - 7 - Held the ball up well, and another assist for Son. By his standards not his very best match.
Richarlison - 7 - Set a good tempo and fought from the off. Need that v Chelsea next week.

Son - 7.5 - Obviously plays better in open spaces in the last quarter. Starting to look more like himself though.
Perisic - (Football - 4) (Kung-Fu - 10) Has slipped behind Davies (!) for LWB.

MOM - Emerson

Emerson, Romero and Davies were excellent. Will give it to Royal who is becoming the best all round player in the side. West Ham though are awful and hopefully on their way down

Yeah the sample size is too small but if we turn up against Chelsea I may start hoping conte's missus watches Misery.

Easiest MOM of the season. Royal was immense!

What character and mental strength this guy has shown. That’s 5 really good positive performances on the trot (didn’t start at Leicester remember). Massive credit to him - he was great at both ends ????????

Romero - he was immense - judged and timed his tackles perfectly and was the main reason Dier had a comfortable afternoon. Imagine Romero with prime Toby and Jan - would we ever concede?

Stellini needs credit too - dropping Son is quite a big deal for an assistant to make.
Moving Davies back to LB for the first time in 2 years is a big call.
Not giving Porro his first start in front of the home fans is another big call with Levy looking on.
He got them all right.

Tricky one today could be one of Romero, Hojbjerg, Davies or Royal.

I went for Romero, he was setting the tone out there.
Hugely disappointed in Romero. Every one of his aggressive challenges took the ball cleanly today. The one time you want him to mistime it and snap someone in half…

Royal MOTM today. Looked Italian in defence and Brazilian going forward. He’s been outstanding over the last month.

Conte made those calls.

Even in his post match interview Stellini said that he has to ask Conte during the match of any changes.

The redemption game. Davies great at lwb, royal continues to prove he's one of our most important players, Son scores, PEH's epic through ball, Romero crunching everyone - it's like every supporter complaint was addressed.

Davies did say post match that the squad had discussed some home truths…

MOM, Pedro Porro who has put a rocket up Emerson's arse

Still can't get over the sight of our 2 non offensive FBs combining for such a fantastic goal. Hojbjerg with a pinpoint pass, Davies bursting forward and laying it on a plate for Emerson to finish like prime Jimmy Greaves. Brilliant stuff.
